The Tawashi, cute 'em up on Steam

To those (like me) who are not particularly inclined towards cute in general, it looks a bit shit, but despite this and a rather simple game system it plays surprisingly well.

The player character looks almost exactly like the Compile mascot, no? I like the bubbly art style, despite looking a little rough around the edges.

Bit on the easy side on the default "Normal" difficulty mode, but the game is quite fun, in a straightforward "kill and/or collect everything" sort of way. The size and number of the bullets, as well as the width of the playing field, made it a lot more cramped than I was expecting. In a fun way, though. And luckily enough, I enjoy the colorful nonsense of its art style.

So, it looks like the little dude's tiny green mouth is the hitbox?

Well, obviously, the mouth/face points upwards, since it's a vertical game.. so the green marker (which indeed is the hitzone) is a tattoo on his head.
