It’s only in the last two years that I’ve started to really explore MAME and since I’ve started building playlists I have a few questions about the naming conventions. Taking Ketsui as an example, there are three versions all listing the same date, with only minor differences in full stop positioning:
* Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi (2003/01/01 Master Ver)
* Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi (2003/01/01 Master Ver.)
* Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi (2003/01/01. Master Ver.)
Is there a some persistent meaning to these full stops? Any idea what the difference is between these three or the other CAVE ROMs with similar duplicates?
What about the ROMs listed as “Set 1, Set 2” etc. Is there a rule to these designations?
I really wish all ROMs had the neat Capcom naming structure of having their release date within the title.
