Favorite CAVE arrange mode?
What are your favorite Cave arrange modes? I feel like these often get relegated to "not the real game" status, but some of them are really excellent and well worth playing.
I really enjoyed Pink Sweets arrange. Really fun score system and lightened up the difficulty for mortals. DFK had a great arrange mode--either Arrange A or Arrange L (am i remembering this right?) that made it play more like DOJ. I vastly prefered this to the main game, which i kind of hate.
Wish i could get on with Futari's arrange, but it seemed kind of overwhelming and too ridiculous. Espgaluda 2 had so many different modes that I didn't know what to do with them. Lots of people seemed to like Ketsui's arrange but i... didn't get it? I could just never figure out how the scoring was working. I really want to go back and play Espgaluda's arrange since i'm enjoying Esp.rade so much.
What's your favorite arrange? Is there any one you play regularly?

i'm getting a lot of appreciation for Arrange B in DFK. i feel like it's a fun way to practice memorizing stage layouts, at several dfificulties and intensities, and the way the game is always climbing in difficulty if you keep on doing well. popping hyper, canceling pink bullets into hexagons, and then free bombing at just the right time to rake in tons of stars and hexagons is a ton of fun. i really like Black Label Arrange too, although i'm not very good at it yet.

I really enjoyed Ibara's arrange mode. In fact, I like it much more than the main game.
Re: Favorite CAVE arrange mode?
The Espgaluda arrange mode on the PS2 is great. Unfortunately it's not been ported to other consoles. The Ketsui arrange mode in the 360 port is also pretty good, more bullet cancelling so the difficulty takes a hit. After the M2 port its the only reason to keep hold of it.
For a while I got into the Muchi Muchi Pork arrange, but never really got my head around the scoring. I seem to remember a really cool thing where bullets would transform into gold in giant circles (or something, been a while).

^ This. I'm absolutely garbage at it, I can barely reach the stage 2 boss, but I absolutely love it. And the arranged OST is fire.dan76 wrote:The Espgaluda arrange mode on the PS2 is great.

I think that the Pink Sweets arrange mode is probably better than the actual game. I'm also partial to the iPhone mode on ESPGaluda 2 on iPhone, it's a surprisingly fun little diversion all things considered.

Deathsmiles 1.1 was basically the first Cave game I tried hard at. Allowing control with the right analog stick made the game much more approachable - of course, it also made it really difficult to transition into the real game. But I loved 1.1 and MBL 1.1.
SDOJ's 360 mode was also a lot of fun and much more approachable and interesting than the other variants of the game.

I absolutely adore Futari arrange. Is possibly my favourite Cave experience.

I really enjoyed the Guwange arrange mode on 360 where you controlled your Shikigami with the right stick.

Akai Katana Shin. So good it got ported back to the arcade.
Arguably, this one might not count though.

I love Pink Sweets arrange too for similiar reasons. Espgaluda arrange was also rather good.

I feel this way about all 3 Cave steam ports. It doesn't help that there isn't a great, concise and/or centralized topic that delineates and explains what all theses modes are. DFK, for example, is pretty mystifying in what its modes are! I either have to remember/sift through say, Serraxor's Bullet Heaven video, or take notes or something.Special World wrote:Espgaluda 2 had so many different modes that I didn't know what to do with them.
I agree with your sentiment though! These should really be treated with some more love and respect; I think they just need more exposure/explanation as to what they are. DaringSpino got the WR in DFK Arrange-A - we need more stuff like that happening!

Definitely a vote for Ibara's on PS2. I spent much more time with that than the core game, which is really not like me. I generally buy these releases for the arcade mode alone and will only touch the arrange modes when I clear the base game, but Ibara was a huge exception to that rule.
Espgaluda 2 gets a vote as well. Just seeing JB 5th back again and all gothed up in his BDSM gear was an awesome surprise.
