After the shitshow that was Sakura Flamingo Archives, that was the first and last time I bother with MileStone / Klon / RS34. If they went back and fixed their shit, I could be a little more sympahetic towards Radirgy Swag, this, and whatever other projects they may have. Like, good for them that they're still making STGs but I won't touch this unless it was free.

My heart will always belong to KHDN soundtracks, but are the old MileStone developers even involved in these games at all?
Of course, that's just an opinion.

This Yoshito Masubuchi guy is running the company alongside Nagata (and Hayashi)
https://www.4gamer.net/games/428/G042832/20190624047/

No idea if he has any experience with schumps, but he seems to have worked as a lyricist (...) at Klon.

and afaik Nagata is in charge of everyting since they left Milestone (direction, music, etc)

Ilvelvo was the only milestone shmup that slapped so this is good news.

:?:

So director of old milestone was arrested and disappeared and his colleagues went away and company/ip was inherited by klon and then they let khdn into it to be core team?

I... don't... understand... this... crazy 007 James Bond plot

I could never get into this (or any Milestone) game, just too many weird systems. ILLvelo reminded me of some of those adventure-shmups on famicom where it's impossible to figure out how to progress. I guess I just need to sit down and read an FAQ for it.

Nope, it was Nagata who moved to klon with all the IPs and founded Sakura Flamingo. He's always been in charge of the art and sound direction of the milestone games, so i think most of the ips belong to him in some way.

Manabu Matsumoto, THE main programmer of the company dissapeared after working on the original Illvelo.

I can't wait for this to be sold through Dispatch so it can be a year overdue to ship

KAI, thanks.

Hayashi will participate? I was a bit sad he didn't in Swag.

I like Nagata's intricate breakbeat, but I also like Hayashi's powerful techno (I can't formulate more correctly, but they have slightly different style even though they worked kind of like band together).

I still relisten their live remix show I purchased from bandcamp once. On that bandcamp there were more Nagata solo works though and some unrelated other artists.

I remember playing this game and just...couldn't make heads or tails of what was going on. So much noisy visual clutter. Radirgy was the only thing from them I could enjoy.

...

Random question. What kind of music is the original Radirgy's called? The genre of it I mean, if anyone's good with picking that sort of stuff out. I loved that game's music and entire aesthetic.

I think it's close to Speed Garage, UK Garage, 2-Step etc.

Would love to see you reaction from Space Giraffe or Tempest 4K visual overload, haha.

I don't think these are that bad. I can handle a lot of visual stuff, but I straight up could not see what I was supposed to be dodging in Illvelo.
Also, thank you. 9v9

According to Nagata, they tried to make a famicom-like soundtrack with pop and click house influences.

While checking some 4gamer articles I found Illvelo S was announced a few months ago at the ARXIAL RENDEZVOUS 3 event, along with another game called Ranhansha no Sanguis (乱反射のサンギス)

The new Illvelo seems to be an arranged version of the arcade game, and they are including the original ver. with it.

*A new 4gamer article just popped up revealing the game logo, and Masubuchi commenting RS34 only has 5 members.

Thank you for the heads-up. Radirgy Swag is fucking awesome, so this is really good news (although, I really wanted them to tackle Karous next)

This is indeed very cool news; I'd love the chance to try more or Milestone's style, especially since Illvelo is more obscure than the others.

I also echo my dismay at the likelihood of Dispatch Games fucking this one up as well. Perhaps I don't need to read Japanese to enjoy this as I would need to in Radirgy Swag?

On their stream the other night, they basically said it's a port+arrange and a first step in porting the other NAOMI games, but that Chaos Field has its own issues that make it tougher to port than the others. They also said don't expect any more compilations.

LOL

It would be good to see this happen, though, especially if it includes the original version. Certainly not having a Western release that's easily accessible, outside of modding a Wii (easy enough, I know), makes it more attractive.
