Conversion?
Weird looking R-Type LEO PCB
Re: Weird looking R-Type LEO PCB
Mask roms, seal appears legit - it looks like the real deal, not a conversion.
Weird that he's not showing the whole reverse side of the board, it might be a Korean version and/or damaged by capacitor leaks.
This might be more appropriate in the harware section.

All the other images I see of this board online are a single PCB...
Re: Weird looking R-Type LEO PCB
Sometimes these companies just used up whatever stock they had (which is one reason you see versions with different encrypted sound CPUs recycled from older games etc.)
We've seen many weird factory conversions over the years.

??? All M92 Boards are two pcbs. However the longer one is on the top, while the shorter one is on the bottom. So a top-down pic will hide the bottom board from view. Here he has the pcb upside down, hence you can see the smaller board.shmupsrocks wrote:All the other images I see of this board online are a single PCB...

Re: Weird looking R-Type LEO PCB
Yeah completely legit, it's not one of the cheap Korean pcb versions, and no sign of capacitor leakage yet, even though a closer pic near the sound amp would be better to make sure.
