Street Fighter 5 April Fools Shmup(browser, playable)
Re: Street Fighter 5 April Fools Shmup(browser, playable)
I absolutely died laughing while playing this
Also, I believe I've done 117k, but I'm pretty sure that there's no point in trying to high score the game, since you can just keep the simple fast shot and milk projectile bosses endlessly.

I think I saw a timer in there so they do time out, though yeah, milking destructible bullets would be a major part of playing this "seriously"...which would kinda kill the point of its existence, but hey.

Quiz Street Fighter Academy, the April Fools' game from two years ago, is one of the games pictured in the background.
There's also a War of the Grail poster on the wall.

The secret boss is a great homage to Super Street Fighter II Turbo. My high score is 590700, played on mobile. I'm not sure if score is relevant to spawning the secret boss or just not dying.

The TLB appears if you don't die through the stages.

Pretty awful to play on PC with mouse, but very impressive for a joke game.

You can use the arrow keys, though I haven't found a button that activates the bomb (is there one?).

Awh man they took it down. I didn't manage to beat it when I played last night. I wish I had recorded a run, that was cute game and a clever April fools worth preserving for future reference.
It look like a few of you guys missed the "How to Play" link in the upper left corner. It had a few story blurbs and character profiles and that sort of stuff as well as control instructions.

Can these kind of games be preserved in any way? This one was fun and it’s too bad it’s just gone.

It doesn't matter now since it's too late, but as a fellow techie, the best way to do this is to set up a webserver on your local machine and then set up a local dns alias. Use curl/wget or something to snag the initial page and copy it to your server and then load that in your browser. Every time your browser tries to load a file your server will report a 404 and log the URL. Snag that file off the real server and copy it to your local server, lather rinse repeat. Eventually you will get all the different scripts and all the stuff those scripts try to load.KAI wrote:Tried to save the script running the game the other day but i couldn't do it. sad.
The only time this doesn't work is when the script calls a serverside cgi or api that generates stuff dynamically or livestreams it, then you have to sniff things over the wire which is a lot more complicated.
