Non-MAME arcade shmups

Post by garbanzox »

I'm building a list of arcade shmups that can be emulated on a Windows PC, but require something other than MAME to run. What am I missing?

Taito Type-X / NESiCAxLive
Akai Katana Shin
Crimzon Clover
DeathSmiles II
Giga Wing Generations
Homura
Ikaruga
Raiden III
Raiden IV
Shikigami no Shiro III
Strania - The Stella Machina
Trouble Witches AC

Sega Model 2
Zero Gunner
Pilot Kids

Sega Naomi
Border Down
Chaos Field
Giga Wing 2
Ikagura
Karous
Mamoru-kun wa Norowarete Shimatta!
Psyvariar 2: The Will To Fabricate
Radirgy
Radirgy Noa
Senko No Ronde
Shikigami no Shiro II
Shooting Love 2007
Triggerheart Exelcia
Trizeal
Under Defeat
Zero Gunner 2

Gunspike could be added to the Naomi list. Last time I checked, Radiant Silvergun still runs like garbage in MAME.

Define "garbage". ST-V stuff runs fine, especially after that big update they did recently. Which, unfortunately, also makes it impossible to actually run the games on things besides top-of-the-line hardware...

It was always choppy on multiple MAME builds on any standard PC I tried it on, always had to resort to SSF. If it's just not optimized to work with average hardware that would explain it.
