Looking awesome to the max!
Awesome screen shots!
I like the various layers of water in the 2nd pic, it adds the illusion of depth.
So, how are PC-Gunjin and Xymati progressing?

It's sad- hard for me to believe that I've been waiting for this and Gunjin for THAT long. Hopefully we see them some day.

Well the original thread was posted 3 years ago, so one could easily assume that this is a dead project...

it would be a shame if it is a dead project. Those screen shots look very nice.

I know this is more than 2 years old, but...

Xymati LIVES!!! albeit for a different platform. Alas, the XBox 360 and Windows will be getting it instead... (sigh)

So what's the official status of the PC Engine version of Xymati nowdays? Will it still be released as a Super CD-Rom2 game or as a Hu-Card instead?
I saw a PCE Xymati screenshot with a 2010 copyright date on one of those indy web-only PC Engine fanzines some time back.
It'd sure be nice to try out a beta-build if it's possible with a proper Turbo Everdrive flash cart setup.

They canned the PCE version. It's now being coded with C# using Microsoft's XNA -- meaning XBLA, Windows and Windows Mobile.
The developer puts videos up quite regularly
on Youtube .

Oh, hahah. 7 years later and still neither PC-Gunjin and Xymati have been released.

Well, so much for the highly hyped release of PC Engine Xymati then. I'm sure it plays quite well despite never been finished. Chalk it up to be regarded as more PCE vaporware.

Call me when they make a sequel to Earnest Evans. And then bury me with my money.

They made two sequels to Earnest Evans! Of course, they play nothing like the original so we have to make do with qwop :(

I've checked quickly and I don't think anyone has updated the status of Xymati lately so here are the "latest news".
The project is not dead, there is still some development going on. I know there are new assets/goodies that haven't been shown in this thread.
Maybe I could convince frag to come over and post an "official status".

It's still in development. The 360 version programming is off and on, depending on Bt's time constraints. The TG-CD programmer is completing a couple other projects first before focusing on Xymati. The music is done, my work (art) is mostly done. It's more or less up to the programmers, at this point.

I'd love to see the PC Engine one work out. There's not enough home brew for that !

BTW, I don't know if anybody saw this over on pixeljoint.com but I uploaded a short animated GIF a while back showing how the level 5 hyperspace sequence will switch over from fast scrolling stars to a wavy psychedelic backdrop.
