Surely there has to be some risk involved with/limit on the High Tension system. I could imagine there being an energy bar which would refill as you buzz bullets. Or maybe it could raise rank similar to DDPDOJ's Hyper.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Looks just as solid as any other game in the series; graphically it sure looks great to me!

That's pretty fair to say, considering none of them have really outstanding graphics. They are fun game sthough.

Yes. Very old news coming to life now that it's nearing, or has already been released.

The bullet patterns look beautiful....

My only question is will this see a PS2 release or will Alpha release it to PS3 as a high profile launch title? *-neo

Yuuki Sayo has an odd hairstyle for this game. Could be just her pose though.

She looks scary when she's embarassed.

On a side note, you can get both Shikigami no Shiro and II for the PC for 60 dollars now. I kinda feel stupid getting the Dreamcast version (but it was limited edition!). Oh well.

Hey, that is weird. I thought that she was dead!? Or wait, I suppose that simply because she's Kohtarou Kuga's new spirit woman thing person (isn't she?), it doesn't necessarily mean that she can't appear almost usual and get all flustered about something. I rather like her hair now, also.

::looks at picture again::

Er, I think. I also think that I had her mixed up with Yukari Horiguchi, the first time that I was flipping through those pictures. Shame on me.

As a side note to your side note; I can't help but prefer the DC version of SNS II to the PC demo of the same game. It might be my PC, but I think that it's more along the lines that the NAOMI version was developed on one static platform, and was ported to one static platform (amongst others), and being played on the same platform that they developed it on (be it DC, XB, and so on) lends the idea that you're seeing what they were seeing, playing what they were playing, when they were working on it.

It's really cool that they ported the game to PCs (which might be the only way that I'll be able to play SNS "Ep." III), but the high variability of PCs and their performance lends the idea to me that no matter how high-, mid- or low-performing your PC is, you're still only seeing it sort of the way that they saw it, although this is probably reading too much into it and it might not matter either way. A game's a game, right? Let's play with those trading cards. I have a Hyuga; Do you have a Hyuga?

I'm... too scared to open the shrink wrap for mine, for they may scatter to the four winds and I'll have to end up collecting all five cards again before calamity ensues from the cards wandering around in the real world. The front card on the plastic looks like a "Dark" version of Fumiko OV; outfit colors are black, and her hair's gray. Oh, and her chest is exposed in this outfit.

Also, based on the demo version of the PC port to SnSII, it's actually better than the Dreamcast version (for me at least) because it has no slowdown as well as having the music in mp3 format so you can play them outside of the game easily. That, and I don't have to keep switching around wires. Downside is, it'll probably take almost close to another GB of hard drive space in order for me to be able to play it on a Windows-based PC.

----------------------
Back on track to Shikigami no Shiro III, Yuuki's supposed to be dead in this one? Is that why she doesn't appear in the character select screen? I have, like zero information about what the heck's going on in the series' plot other than the humorous PS2 US localization dialog of SnSII, which doesn't really explain much.

The screens in this months Arcadia look delicious. I think this 'always in x8' talk must be some kind of other (kiddy) mode. Time will reveal of course.

Actually the graphics look ok in my opinion. Note one key crucial factor - there's NO CLUTTER. You can easily identify every single bullet on there. High contrast sprites, low contrast background. And I thought Raiden 3 looked great overall, people said it looked crap all the way along until we got our hands on the port. Edit: the player does look pretty poor though - of course until we see it move, we don't know what it really looks like.

Same thing with Homura. Everyone complained that it looked like crap in stills but then everyones opinion improved when they saw it in motion.

I could care less if assmuncher XS Games ports it to PS2 in the states, I'm really wishing that company goes under for the botched mess they did for the first two.

I don't think there are any sprites in Shikigami III. They appear to be polygons.

I think a port here would be better than none at all. I don't think the Shiki 2 port was that bad, considering they were selling it for $10 new.

Yeah - I just couldn't think of a better name to quickly label 'anything that isn't the background' with.

For anyone that cares, the character sketch section of the latest Arcadia (w/ Hokuto no Ken on the cover) is all Shikigami no Shiro III. Pretty nice.

Last few times I visited Skonec.com, I'm pretty sure they did not have an AlfaSystem partner banner there before... so I'm guessing it's the latter.

EDIT: Found a recent babelfished article from their website that mentions the partnership:
Skonec wrote:Also current providence characteristic series with development trust of development cause of death Alpha System of Japan next term workth person providence characteristic it is to in the process of developing 3.
At the same time they have also announced a new development library to aid multiplatform development, which is supposed to simplify porting to multiple consoles:
Skonec wrote:SMPL which is a game engine which is developed with individual technique (Skonec Multi Platform Library) it uses with to solve the problem point which appears from method of existing which depends in platform, uses the source of commonness with the moneymaking development with multi platform is possible with only brief time and effort. Weak development technique and high-class manpower of domestic game development absence, it invited the developer who is excellent from Japan which leads the international market of the hazard game which complements the back hazards which game planning is inferior.

Dunno if anyone noticed that the official website has some funky concept art. Fumiko Odette VanStein never looked so good

Guess he's gotten ahold of whatever crazy gender-shifting drugs that the Galuda gang's been taking, heh heh. Or else this character's just related to him or something...why is it that a lot of the families in video games seem to be named "Kim" (a la Jae Hoon, Kap Hwan, etc. from Fatal Fury/KoF)?
"Kim" is the most common Korean family name, making up about 20% of the population.

Random drift over the generations will make family names become more or less common. Eventually you'll end up with just a few names being very common and others being very rare, simply by chance, if there's nothing that introduces new names (like immigration in the US).

I thought it was more. Actually, doesn't "Kim", "Cho", and "Park" make up like 65% of the country? Regardless, it's a lot, hence their heavy use of the middle name.

The game is released. As expected, it looks pretty ass (if you ask me). Half-decent characters, but bullets and especially backgrounds lack detail. I will buy a PS2 port if it comes, but probably won't waste 100 coins in the arcade.

Yeah I saw that today. Yesterday we were playing Galuda II, and today I went back to practice some of the stuff you showed me, and instead of Galuda I see three Shikigami no Shiro III cabs. From a distance, the game looks good, but I was so amped to play Galuda that I didn't even take a closer look.
