Is there any update on the overseas digital release besides Strictly Limited mentioning it?

Cozmic collection now has a training mode for all the arcade releases, a toggle for boss health bars, a rank counter in Gaiden, boss rush modes added to Force and Darius II MD, various new ranked modes for Alpha. Taito and M2 are crazy, the game just keeps getting better and better despite its age and obscurity! This port is like a dream, I really couldn't have imagined this in my wildest dreams when I first got into the series.

Great news. This gen's arcade coverage continues to impress me. A wealth of classics that either never had home releases, or received hugely improved ones.

Any chance of this coming to Steam?

So far I have decided to pass on these. I have most of the console releases in their original form with the exception of Darius alpha. If they released a more all encompassing arcade collection I would bite, or if the price was lower

Kinda late to chine in here, but the announcement of a Cozmic Collection 2 is incredibly fortunate. Finally an accurate home port of G.Darius (hopefully including Ver.2)?

Got an e-mail today saying Strictly Limited have started to receive the Darius collector's edition extras and expect the various editions of the games themselves in a few days/a week. They've also said they have a new shipping partner sorted for countries that are otherwise complicated/restricted (inc. USA) thanks for COVID-19 and are taking the hit on the additional cost, which is nice.

I’m looking forward to this finally turning up. Feels like ages ago since I ordered it.

With the second collection incoming made me think.
I got a refund, no problem, cant afford it all.

Strictly limited have just emailed to say my Arcade collection has been shipped!
I'd had it in my head to be waiting till at least August so this is a nice (belated) surprise.

Apparantly, the 3 screen version of Darius II has a Sagaia version? Is this a dipswitch setting? The two 2 screen Sagaia variants are different from the original 2 screen Darius II. http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=653

I was honestly sad that 3 screen Darius II wasn't on the collection. It is a bit different in ways that affect the routing, though mostly the same on a surface level. The differences are definitely more significant than say, Darius Old versus New.

There's a screenshot on system 16's Taito page for Ninjawarriors hardware in a different aspect ratio from the 2 screen version, though the only shot they have of a cab is of the 2 screen Sagaia cab (which is on the wrong page).

Pricing is way out there for these, IMO. Glad I ordered the physical deluxe versions instead.

Wow. PSN Tax? I'm glad I went with the JP physical standard version (same as arcade version), though the inferior (mostly) versions being priced higher makes zero sense. I wonder if this is Taito's doing since they did pretty much the same thing with the SI collection, only with a stranger choice of games to be stuck in the deluxe (two 70s arcade games and another variation of the original SI).

They started shipping to Europe at the end of last week, they're having to use a different provider for some territories (like the USA) so should think yours will be dispatched shortly, once they've cleared their local backlog of DHL orders.

Bit late to the party, but what's the difference between Darius 2 and Sagaia? I always thought they were the same game.

If you are talking about the arcade versions, then Sagaia is an export version with multiple tweaks that, for most of them, make it easier to clear :

-Reduced boss health
-The second boss (the anglerfish) does no longer have two phases
-Removed midbosses from all stages aside from the last
-Decreased the amount of stages. Now branching only occurs very two stages
-Stage order is different. You don't start on the surface of the Sun anymore, but on a Earth-like level
-With only 4 final stages, one of the final stages now has a retooled boss that used to be one of the anglerfish phase two bosses. It's the mackerel one. The porcupine fish is now the first boss.

There's also a Sagaia V2, whose existence was rediscovered in the context of the Cozmic Collection. While Sagaia v1 has been emulated for a while and can be played on MAME, Sagaia v2 is still new to the collection (and the rare original arcade release obviously) AFAIK. I don't know what changes are there aside from another stage shuffling (I think you start on a fire stage with lots of ruined buildings or something)

Thanks man. Hmm I had my eye on the arcade collection for Gaiden, but in real term it's a pretty hard sell for anyone that already picked up ACA Darius. I'd have maybe bitten with G-Darius as well, as I remember that being the one Darius I really liked on the PS2 comp. Definite sale fodder. And the pricing for the console collections is eye-watering

If the screenshot on system-16 is anything to go by, there may be a three screen version of Sagaia, as well. Not sure if that is just changed settings on the Darius II ROM, though.

Both 2-screen versions of Sagaia are worth playing in their own right. V2 has some interesting changes that are in no other version and some bosses have unique attacks exclusive to that version.
