I noticed some top shmup players starting to play the game -- some from Geometry Wars fame. That's so awesome to see.

Another Metacritic accepted review came in at 80% from Brash Games, keeping our Metacritic score at 80%! Amazing that an indie shmup is holding onto this score. It's amazing that modern day reviewers are respecting the game for what it is -- tight gameplay -- and not ripping too hard on what it is not -- tons of content, upgrading, AAA graphics, etc.

P.S. If any of you have played the game, please feel free to leave a user rating (just a score) or user review (a score and a written review). We have noticed at least one (and maybe two) incidents of 1/10 reviews on the game from users. It would be nice if those ratings had a written review for us to learn from.

^It's a shame the reviewer doesn't get multiplayer. I think that's one of the great things about this game, but I can see they would miss it because it only really comes into its own in the higher difficulties.

I know exactly what you mean.

I have found that many reviewers knock the multiplayer without playing it. I know from experience that most reviewers review alone. They knock the multiplayer because they theorize the intense must be overwhelming in multiplayer.

Interestingly, in a lot of ways the game becomes more clear with more players. In the extreme case of 8 fighters (4 player DUAL PLAY) all fully powered up, you cannot see enemy ships directly however you CAN see the hit sparks from where the bullets hit the enemies. The more bullets you and your team fire, the easier this becomes. The visibility of the game goes through a transition from seeing the enemies directly to seeing them from the hit sparks. On top of all of that, the enemy bullets become easier to see on top of all the player bullets. EDIT: Also you have to sense enemies from enemy shots, and the enemy bullets are drawn on top of everything.

That said, I understand the chaos of multiplayer can be difficult. Sometimes friends can move their ship exactly where you are, and confuse you. There is nothing I can do about that. So, on this level, reviewers could knock multiplayer. This same issue would exist for all games though.

Score Rush is great. I would say the *only* bullet hell that works in multiplayer, and damn fun either way. Glad you guys are keeping the dream alive.

It seems to have poofed from Turbulenz. Even though we never were able to find a couple others, I remember Boson and I were scoreplaying Godlike, saving all bombs for the final boss to speedkill it for that sweet multiplier.

Amazing game. Absolutely brilliant multiplayer shmup.

It's a shame it keeps getting compared to Geometry Wars in spite of playing nothing at all like Geometry Wars.
