Yay more Qute!

Eschatos was worth the 360 for me, and more Qute would be worth the price of an Xbox One for me, I'm sure.

Hmm...Shooting Love Trilogy certainly sounds like a compilation of previous releases, and Raiden New Project might be one too, assuming the name is a reference to the PS1 Raiden collection...good to see some commercial shmup releases for the next gen (though I do have to wonder what manner of black magic Microsoft is working to get any Japanese developer to stay with its system after the 360's performance in the east), but hopefully they'll amount to more than "buy these again" before too long.

That's super awesome!!! I got the impression that Qute had quite a bit more backstory planned for Natsuki in Ginga Force than what was conveyed during the Chapter 7 boss fight dialogues.

I really didn't want to buy an Xbox One but I have no choice now :(

Considering I can get a Xbox One without kinect and the system is region free anyway, I have little reason to complain in all honesty. I'll pick up the system eventually for these (and hopefully other) releases, at least this time I won't need to jump through hoops to get a J region console.

Very nice. I was wondering how long it would take shmup developers to start supporting the new consoles.

Now I'm curious if Raiden New Project means a new Raiden game, or a new "Raiden Project" (similar to the PS1 game)

Also, are there any Triangle Service games that haven't seen a home release yet? I'm not very familiar with their catalog other than what we've seen on the Dreamcast/PS2/360.

And something new from Qute, can't go wrong there.

I think it's just a new raiden game. The "new project" part isn't in italics the same as how "Azito New Project" is written. I made the same mistake thinking it was a throwback to ps1.

I don't care what comes out on the Xbox One. They will never get me to spend one penny in their direction.

*drools uncontrollably* Helll yessss!!!!! Please be like Raiden DX. Please be like Raiden DX, Oh please please please!!! Maybe it's a collection of every previous Raiden game including Raiden Fighters series and Viper Phase 1, or maybe it's a totally new game, which I'm hoping for. New music from Go Sato!! Dammit, 2015 please be here quicker.

Also, I just noticed that the pic on that page is concept art from the new Raiden game! :D
I love the apocalyptic look, but it looks an awful lot like the scene of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. I look forward to seeing how I will incorporate this new Raiden game into my fanfiction. I wonder what city that is in the pic though

IMO they could easily launch those games on X360, no need to move to new hard.
Anyway good news for Xbone users cause these games will probably encourage more developpers to follow.

You guys are speaking like these games won't be released on other platforms at some point.

They might not.

We'll definitely have to wait and see, but if this generation is anything like the 360, some of us are just going to have to bit the bullet. Who knows though, things might be different this time (hopefully).

According to this http://www.siliconera.com/2014/06/19/ne ... -xbox-one/ it says that this new Raiden game will be celebrating the series' 25th anniversary and wont be locked into series traditions. Does this mean a radical change to the game perhaps? Maybe it's not going to be a top down vertical shmup, perhaps it'll be an on rails shooter or arcade flight combat game? That's what this sounds like to me.

I'm obviously exceedingly excited about the Raiden news. I'm especially interested by that 'won’t be locked into series traditions' line. So perhaps down the DX/Fighters route? Or Viper Phase Two! :)

EDIT: I just hope Furry Fox Jet Pilot isn't correct in those guesses about it changing genre! Suddenly a seed of doubt is sowed in my mind!

Have those games been confirmed to be physical releases? As far as I know, digital releases are region-locked. I read on NeoGAF that Microsoft has (silently) introduced region-locking for digital downloads:

Read this very late last night & was pretty sure I dreamed it.

New Qute game is about as good as news of this variety can get for me...

Somehow will have to get an arcade stick for XBox One (and, I suppose, an Xbox One as well). But there's no way this can be interpreted as anything but great news.

Good to see whisperings of a new Raiden game.

I have a hard time believing that the Triangle Service game will be anything BUT a new compilation of Fujino's previous titles.

Please don't start spreading false rumors. If you actually READ the NeoGAF thread you linked, almost everyone there who had out-of-region digital games had zero problems. A small number of people had reported games deactivated that they had registered via download codes purchased off eBay from probably shady individuals, likely scam-related and not MS is out to get importers related. One dude in Asia had Dead Rising 3 that he bought with a US points card, it worked, stopped working for a while, then started again. Sounds more like a technical issue than a conspiracy.

Remember, these aren't "any" Japanese developers, they're shooter developers. While 360 wasn't successful with the mainstream audience in Japan, it did fine for the niche otaku crowd. Huge system install base doesn't necessarily mean anything when you're selling to a much smaller percentage of that audience. If anything, it's arguably easier to market to your hardcore fans in the smaller ecosystem with fewer other games as distractions.

So, not really all that shocking to think that the shooter publishers who are already used to working with MS might continue to do so.

Now everyone is starting to do their job and making me actually want to get all three current consoles eventually.

I would totally buy a Triangle Service compilation because the first Shooting Love was region locked.

Hopefully there's a 360 to Xbone controller adapter on the horizon, lest I need another arcade stick...

Arcade sticks wise, is it just that Killer Instinct one for the Xbox One thus far?

Would have preferred if they were announced for ps4, didn't want to buy either of the pos 1.5 gen consoles tbh but the xbone will be significantly cheaper by the time these games are released I'm sure. So not 2 bad.
+ more qute!!!!!!!! Nice :D hopefully that means more namiki as well :D

There are advantages to it, to be sure, but it is still a bit weird to think that the "niche" audience in Japan must be so invested in the XBox brand that the developers think they wouldn't follow them to the Sony (or even Nintendo) side if they migrated...then again I recall reading that a lot of the 360-to-PS3 shooter ports sold poorly, so maybe there's more attachment than you'd think, but at the same time a lot of the fans had already bought the games once already, so who knows what the deciding factor might be. Seeing as so many such companies have decided to stick with MS even during lean times like these must mean they see something worth sticking around for.

Speaking of which, did they ever give an excuse as to why the old peripherals were no longer compatible (other than a cash grab)? I have a hard time seeing an excuse as to why old sticks should not have been made cross compatible via drivers...
