Why am I a cheater? Should've played Darius Gaiden instead?

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see that ACSeraph had chosen a game. I just read the OP and posted the score. Will go play a credit of Darius Gaiden then.

Ruldra - Darius Gaiden - ABDG - 1,219,080

First time ever playing this. Pretty fun game.

Ruldra - Slap Fight - Area 27 - 53,030

Another first timer. Died pretty fast as I just used the default shot. Next credit I tried homing shot and more than tripled my score.

Eno - Touhou 7: Perfect Cherry Blossom- Normal, Sakuya A - 6 - 281.774.480

I really didn't want to come back to this game, not right now, not this way. Completely wrecked the run from the second half of Stage 4 onwards.

No-auto Darius Gaiden:

EmperorIng - Darius Gaiden - 3,809,940 - ABDHLQW (ALL)

Awesome, what a pleasant surprise! My second 1CC of Darius Gaiden.

Especially since I decided to shake it up and take on Vermillion Coronatus, as opposed to the far-easier Risk Storage. He is a really tough bastard - a real epic fight. I sort of bomb-spammed my way through it though, like a scrub.

Score-murdering suicides aside, I am still rewarded with my favorite ending screen. Ah, those were the days...

I'll post my Macross: Scrambled Valkryie score soon; this past weekend has been too busy for shmupping...

^Damn dude nice clear! I had a feeling you would show a good performance. Have you done the auto-off clear before? I love how despite being a radically harder clear the score can't compare to a Risk Storage run. Seems to be a common theme in Darius. Great for survival play, less so for score. I really need to get around to learning some new courses in Gaiden.

Thanks. My previous 1CC was the Risk Storage route (I only accidentally discovered it was a well-known path). I think the lower score has something to do with the amount of lives and bombs left at the end of the game, and since I had thrown everything (a bit haphazardly) into the final fight, I had little bonus to go off of. Either way scoring in Darius games isn't exactly priority number 1. But we all keep trying, don't we. 8)

Coronatus is still a king asshole though. All of the Gaiden final bosses are. Hysteric Empress would be an impressive no-miss clear.

Ugh terrible score:

ACSeraph - R-Type (PS1) - Stage 2 - 98,600

I really need to learn to play this game at some point. Also that PS1 opening cutscene is seriously great.

I feel foolish now, I thought "well that's not really like Highlander" and tuned out too long. I'll seriously take a look at this.

As usual, had a fine run up to 1-3 boss then shit the bed.

ACSeraph - Philosoma - Mission Phase 1 Area 5 - ?

I pressed X and it continued and erased my score

So I bought this along with like 50 other PS1 games about 5 years ago, never tried it, and didn't even realize it was a shmup until the randomizer gave it to me tonight. Seems kinda shitty though, like a Euroshmup. Graphics and presentation are fantastic, but those rail shooter stages are terribad.

Darius gayden.

I failed. alot.

Made it to that stage where the bug things eat through the walls.

Picked the wrong route.

Lost two lives.

and there went a perfectly fine run.

consider this rage.

Nope, I still suck at this game.

Really stupid deaths on the stage 2 boss. Something with this game just clicks with me, despite it being a child of Yagawa.

ACSeraph - Strikers 1945 Plus (PSP) - Fiat G-56 - Stage 1 Boss - 64,100

...well that didn't go very well. Another game I recently bought but haven't had time to get into. That PSP screen is making me go blind, and the soundtrack is making my ears bleed. Also Fiat was not a good plane choice.

ColonelFatso - Master of Weapon - Act 2 Boss - 575,100

This game would be really fun if it weren't for the retarded scoring trick right at the beginning making up 90% of early-game scores.

ACSeraph - R-Type II (Gameboy Color) - Stage 2 - ?

Thanks for telling me how many shots I fired, aliens I killed, and ships I lost, but not my fucking score <_<

I think I've only tried R-Type II once. Looks like a lot of memorization, not something you'll get very far in on a blind play.

Never played this one before. Wow, it kicks ass.

Well, certainly kicked my ass  I don't think I've ever seen a SNES shmup have that many bullets on screen before. With minimal slowdown, no less!

ACSeraph - Deathsmiles - Xbox 360 Mode - Follet - B1-1/A2-1/A1-1/B2-1/C1-1/C2-1/Final - Final - 25,210,499

I find the final stage of this quite difficult, but I'm a bit too apathetic to learning it since I strongly prefer Deathsmiles II (I'm also going to hell). Died in the ballroom. This was my first time with Follet, seems kinda 'meh'. Also as you can see I don't care much for the scoring in this game.
