The CD looks nice, is good to see this kind of releases outside japan. I'll tell the guys from the shmuzik thread on FFshrine to help Edelweiss with the sales.

That would actually be VERY good because japanese authors are VERY unfamiliar with digital sales of music that follow models like those from Bandcamp so showing support will help not only to familiarise but also to trust the services. (And maybe tagging along with Game Music Indie Bundles one day!)

Plus, yeah, Ether Vapor freaking rocks, period! :D

No joke. That's a disturbing trend these days.

Thanks for the support, either way!

I just saw an article on Silicon Era about this game, and it looks quite nice. Being a fan of steam over the other services I see that you sell your games through, I hope this makes it out on there. However, I looked up SATAZIUS on steam interested in purchasing it as well, but sadly it tells me "Not available in your region". I am from the US, but have been living in Japan for the last few years. Can you tell me why that game is region locked, and if your other releases (including this) will be as well?

I realize that I can ask a friend to gift it to me, but that is also not a favor I like to ask much.

I would guess it's a licensing issue. Satazius is easily available in Japan through many sites, both in physical and digital formats (links at the game's official site) and releasing the game there on Steam for a lower price could be harmful to those shops, I suppose.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Really I assumed as much. Here's at least hoping Ether Vapor is not region contingent.

There are 2 main issues:

1) As Ghegs correctly pointed out, channel conflict: existing Japanese distributors will be undercut by our pricing, particularly with the high yen right now. That can sour relationships between the developers and their domestic distributors, which would be bad.

2) Capcom is handling the Steam releases and, as a major publisher and member of regional age rating organizations, Capcom is obliged to support the age rating systems by applying for an age rating for each game it publishes. If Capcom were to publish through Steam in Japan, they would have to apply for a CERO age rating and this comes at a pretty high cost (thousands of dollars.) Unfortunately, the likelihood of our games achieving enough sales in Japan to recoup the cost of the CERO age rating is pretty low, so that's a pretty clear-cut 'no go' business decision for them.

There is a *slim* possibility that Nyu Media could publish through Steam in Japan & it's a conversation we will have, but it's likely that Valve won't be too keen on complicating things by having two publishers publish the same game in different territories.

In either case, the demand / traffic from Japan is low enough that we can sell directly through the product pages without disrupting existing channels & this is what we've started to do since eXceed.

So, to summarize: there are issues preventing Steam sales in Japan right now, but in the meantime our products can be purchased from Japan from the product homepages.

Hope this helps!

I think the entire catalogue is also up on Desura.

A well deserved bump in anticipation to Genki's post. ETHER VAPOR IS OUT ON STEAM.

You know the deal, STEAMZ is, well, STEAMZ.

Here is the store link: http://store.steampowered.com/app/214570/

The demo has also been uploaded. There seems to be a press release by Valve already but they put "Remastered" instead of Remaster.

Hmmm, just in case, try the following: are you running a multiple-screens set up? See if by using only one screen gets this solved. If you have one screen already, set the refresh rate at 60hz and disable Anti-Aliasing. See if the lag goes away. If you were using a 360 pad, switch to the keyboard or something else too. Just to make sure it's not that device the one causing it, especially if it's wireless.

I am using two screens, actually. I'll give those things a shot, thanks.

EDIT: Switching to one screen seems to have done the trick. Now it's okay.

Been playing this since 2007 (the original version) and never had troubles with it.

I just bought it on Steam and cannot enter fullscreen mode. No matter what I toggle in the graphics settings, it always quits to the desktop immediately when I try to enter fullscreen. Currently running an HD4890 with Catalyst 12.6. Anyone else having this problem? I wonder if the Steam overlay is causing it.

You know what, I guess I had a placebo affect that it was better. Because running the game in windowed truly decreased the input lag for me. If anyone has issues, try running windowed instead of full screen.

As for that, the Nyu Media games are pretty good (Gundemonium Collection being pretty good), and Jamestown is a real standout among the crowd. I haven't played the eXceed collection, but it didn't really look like my thing.
