Read more carefully, the Kickstarter price of $65 includes worldwide shipping which, depending on where you're located, is either a bit or much cheaper than buying it from the store + shipping. My "tsk, tsk" referred only to how the game was supposed to be only available on Kickstarter and is now sold elsewhere. It's the promise broken that bothers me and it reminds me of RHE's earlier mess with the DUX update disc.

Personally I don't even mind that they're selling the game outside Kickstarter, I'm all for games reaching the maximum amount of players possible and it makes sense for them to sell the game through as many venues as possible. But I'm sure some collector will get their panties in a twist over this.

...actually, that's not a bad thing. Fuck collectors.

Yes. Demo was announced for xmas this year + the game will get that dark planet extra stage.

That is not what is going on. They must have already been way behind - so they offered the extra stage as a "consolation" - which puts even more work in front of them. I'm all for only releasing something when it's "done" - but the truth is that a "product in development" doesn't get any bills paid, so people get distracted with their "day jobs", increasing the likelihood that the "product" will never see the light of day. "Fall 2013" actually gives them to December 21, 2013 (i.e. when Winter officially starts in the northern hemisphere), so it's more like a 12 month delay - for now. At this point I'm expecting NEO XYX for Dreamcast to be released before Redux.

The Kickstarter goals were based on a product with a 6-month development cycle - not one that would take 18 months or more to develop. So it is reasonable to assume that those funds are exhausted, meanwhile the bills keep coming in and there is no finished (iOS/Steam) product to supply additional revenue - so creating even more work by offering the additional stage doesn't seem like that great an idea. So without any (obvious) additional money they may need delay or cut platform support. The beta demo suggests that right know the PC version may be the most viable to move forward.

How does the lock-on weapon work exactly? I can make the reticle appear and that's it.
Also I can't shake off the 'flash game' feeling, something to do with the sprites and animations that are in there right now.
