I compiled and tried it for a few last night. It looks really good when you turn the filters and everything off. Still a bit of slowdown when bullet hell begins..but still very playable.

The PCB actually slow down when the screen is filled up with bullets. Otherwise how would you be able to go through it ?

As a person who owns and plays the PCB, believe me it slows down.

I think it's more the emu somewhat. If it were running in Kawa-X it would most likely run as close to the pcb as you would get...but that emu hasn't been, and probably won't be, updated anytime soon. FBAXXX has issues with a lot of games sound and speed wise that the other emus don't.
