For those worried about shipping times, yesterday my regular copy finally showed up.
I used the standard shipping and live in Holland (neighbouring country) so I thought 2 week shipping seemed long.
But it was only stamped on may 2nd, later than I think was communicated to me. :?
Play-Asia shipped the LE from Japan to Holland in 2 days! (Fed-Ex, but still).

But game arrived intact without having paid extra. :)
I had to smile seeing the packing note telling me the date of the original order: 8 december 2010. :o

Game is worth the wait though. I really dig it so far.

Glad it's not just me that noticed the arcade stick controls were wrong!

Got a bit more used to weapon switching and the reverse shot, so motored through towards the end stages of level 4 before being ruined by a bunch of environmental hazards. Got a few of the bonus concept unlocks - they cut a jungle themed level because it was deemed too "Euroshmup" but they left the hilarious puffer-fish boss in. WAT.

Hi guys, my limited edition version arrived in New Zealand to me today. Outer packaging box is pretty messed up and the game box has a small dent in the corner. Labelling shows it was sent by post even though I paid and was confirmed for DHL. While Im confident the game will be great, what a messy release....

Brilliant, very cool stuff.

Just reading though the comments left...Dal's in particular being quite scary.
I wonder how many folks actually pre-ordered Sturmwind via eBay, only to get burned by sellers not honouring sales.

Been playing Sturmwind on and off for a week now on 'Normal' difficulty and initially I was struggling to get past level 4- which surprised me because I've completed quite a few horis like R-type, R-type II, X multiply etc etc.

Last night though, it clicked for me and I was cruising through all the levels, right up to the last level when I got killed -(I was running out of time, coz I had to get to my bed).
So, i agree with a few posters- 'Hard' is probably the level you'll want to play this game on- not ever looked at 'easy' - and normal is pretty easy too, once you get the hang of the numerous controls.

Really enjoying Sturmwind- its a brilliant Hori - well worth the money- I can see me playing this for some time to come. The graphics and sounds are brilliant- some nice neat touches too- so far, spotted a few weird sprites including...

- a lunar Jetman (a la Jetpac) - a football rolling across the screen, a Wallee type robot in the background.

What other things have people seen in this game? -whats the significance of these anomalies? Do they add anything to the game or are they just there for fun?

What's it like?

I'm having to wait because of ordering the bundle.

It's a bit annoying because kickstarter backers are forced to wait too.

I'm feeling a distinct sense of input lag - using RGB over Trinitron CRT. Anyone else notice this?

Spotted a Turrican'ish sprite yesterday, walking across the top of the screen.

I've picked up the Kickstarter Redux too but couldn't be bothered waiting all that time for the revision so I claimed the free version. I've still not cranked it up but I've had a few friends say its a good revision, like LH Pink Bullets I've heard that this is the version of the game it should have always been. Will stick my thoughts on here when I've had a go.

Sturmwind, Still not here......................

I was starting to get a little worried, but my copies have just shown up.

The regular edition came in a bubble envelope and arrived totally unscathed, luckily. The Limited Edition was in a larger box and bubblewrapped, there's even buublewrap around the ship model too, so fair play to them for that.

Yeah, this is getting weird. I've never had any issues with anything from Play-Asia before. At most, anything I've ordered from them has taken two weeks. This is over three weeks now for this. If it's a dreamcast game do they have to use 1990's post or something?

VGI keeps raising the price for this, very annoying. I think at first it was £32 or 33, now its 49.99 :? They're usually my source for releases like this but no way am I paying that

is this better than Soldner-X at least? watching vids and such reminds me of it but if it's in the same league as those two stinkers, then no thanks.

Sturmwind has landed in Northern Ireland .... just though those waiting would like to know - arrived yesterday. I pre-ordered last June.

Playing it via VGA and it's quite lovely - albeit with modest borders. Haven't tried it yet with the arcade stick - the default scheme seems well thought out with the standard pad but the DC dpad is just something I don't get on with all that well.

Little stutters here and there re slowdown but not enough to make it significant. Very slight and very short. The rumble pak has been used really well - for once I feel it adds to the enjoyment - worth a try. Nice little touches on the VMU - shows currently selected weapon icon for example - cute and not much use but still - it all adds to the DC charm.

Overall very pleased.

Why isn't anyone posting any impressions OF THE GAME? Is that a bad sign?

EDIT: Typo
