Few years back at a local gaming event people were playing Gradius V with a dance mat...such a shame I wasn't there to witness it, I would've taken video as proof.mr_m0nks wrote:That's what we need, Dance mat shmups! Get fit the STG way!
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

I've tried playing espgaluda with a friends cobalt flux dance pad along with his IIDX and pop'n controllers and it's just impossible. the turntable was entertaining, but the dance pad made me feel like an idiot. If you sit down and try the to use the dance pad it becomes almost possible, but your abs will start to burn after a while, but it's a good satisfying burn when you kick the crap out of Seseritoaplan_shmupfan wrote:Hmm... does this challenge absolutely have to use a joystick?
Seems to me that another alternate using-the-foot controller could be one of those dance pads or dance mats (left/right arrow to move the ship, upper left arrow/X button fires).

That actually sounds manageable with a shmup. watched someone try that on the dreamcast with soulcalibur... wasn't sure what to think when he actually beat it with only (as i recall) 2 buttons and the motion sensorFIL wrote:Anyone tried a fishing rod controller?

Wow, might want to wipe down those balltops before you play. . .
Throw a hadouken!
Yes, mistress.
Yoga flame!
Yes mistress!
Spinning piledriver!
I'm trying mistress. I've always found the 360 motion difficult.
What!? Never talk to your master that way! Spinning piledriver. Now!

With built in chair joysticks I prefer to play "AC Slater style" sitting backwards on the chair. Not only is that how cool guys sit, it's more consistent when doing fireball motions and combos.
Oh, and no autofire allowed. Real men mash.

Its been a long time since I made this thread. I'm getting old.
Originally the feet thing was an idea from a shop owner in St Louis, USA who created a challenge and most people went on and done it.
Those chairs though
