wtf
oh please, if I posted the score I have on my viper phase 1 machine you'd all say I've just taken the high score of somebody else. I really do work hard to master games I own. after under defeat is master I think I will master something else. don't doubt the passion I have for getting my first world record. if it can be done I will prove it.
Cute. Be sure to keep me updated

I'm actually interested in seeing a list of all WRs for shmups in general. Is there not some page with them in Japanese?

hey I'd like to at least give a good shot at getting the WR in under defeat, but it seems nobody here really cares or gives have a rat's ass about helping people try to do what they set out to do.

i reckon this is actually the forum's most epic double-bluff.

lilminge already has the WR, but is setting us up with talk of dying on 1-2. somebody will bet him a large amount of money that he'll never do it, and then...

theres many dedicated players on this forum and a whole bunch of talented ones , its not so much your ambition its your whole presentation that just lacks credibility and makes it seem like a good ole forum joke , itd be like me going to a tetris forum a game i barely play and posting HAI GUYZ IM GUNA BEAT DA GRANDMASTA RECORD ! its just rediculous . If you break the world record for under defeat i will personally paypal you 30 quid to do what you want with , if this is some dumb con double bluff though you can suck my savvy .

no I'm really working at getting the record. if you ever see me play doom or wolfenstien 3d and know me at all I play games I like till I can tell you what will happen and when. still I love Under Defeat and I really think getting the world record is not such a high hope if I'm going to try and pratice a lot. still I will make a blog for people to track my progress.

Good luck, but if you can only get to 1-2 (as I see on the UD high score thread) I think you have your work cut out for you. I doubt most people even think about going for a world record in a game until they can at least 1cc it, and then they start refining their scoring techniques.

It's nice to see you're full of motivation but getting a world record usually involves practicing for hundreds of hours and then trying to do what you think you can do tens of thousands of times (which is horribly tedious) until you get so overly lucky that you break the overly lucky run's score of the previous holder, which of course knew all the game's scoring tricks already. To my mind, a STG world record is pretty much a huge, huge waste of time after some point. But you know, have fun.

Sums up exactly what I wanted to say. Even if you complete the 2 loops you will probably be far from the WR, which can lead you to play the same game to infinity and beyond. Not very fun if you ask me. Set an easier goal and when reached, move on.

This is a bit like going to the gym and training real hard with the intentent of asking a supermodel out.

If you have a good paying job and natural good looks it's not so bad I'm guessing. Probably still a lot easier then mastering a modern shmup. You could get a six-pack in less time too.

All the games I have great scores at just require you to survive a long time(mostly anyway). I could not picture playing a newer shmup for score(primarily).
I did great so much water and milk that I threw up when I was little.
