So how much of an obstacle is left before full emulation?

This is great! Now I don't have to pay the stupid hyped-up prices for a Ketsui PCB.

This will do for now until Ketsui gets ported *SOMEDAY*!

So we finally have a DOJ BL dump? Does that mean we can finally convert vanilla DOJs? :3

Dai-Ou-Jou is apparently playable now (i.e. in u3) with fixes checked-in today.

And I fixed yours.

Anyway, maybe the fixes concern the timing and sound, which is off in some points?

The music in ketsui back label lol plays bizarrely fast in stages 4 and 5 , shame save states dont work with this as the bosses play perfectly.

Still in the red, from what I'm reading, although I don't think pulling down the latest SVN and compiling would hurt. How come I have a feeling iq_132 has something to do with all the CAVE goodness and its current emulation status?

The MAME driver is mostly Haze's work at the moment.

Haze is and has always been a talented one, hands down, however I was referring to what weighted in the decision to "officially" include the later CAVEs in the driver.

Back label is hilarious !! bwahahaha
All this sounds absolutely awesome. I can't wait to FINALLY be able to play those games with a keyboard. The only more modern Cave I could play was DOJ white label but the PS2 emulator seems to have a little too much input lag, and... white label is a little imbalanced !

However, saved states, seriously, we're gonna need them. Any plans to fix saved states for Cave games in newer MAME versions ?

It won't take much time to support savestates in the current (pgm) driver, don't worry! Fixing the audio is top priority though.

Now go loop back label!

No idea where to download the roms and proper MAME though.

Wow, I must say, even though the enemy scrolling part is retarded, the rest runs nearly perfectly. This is very, very pleasant to see, and it could be very important to me because how can I resist getting into DOJ BL or Ketsui if they ever get properly MAME'd ?

DOJ runs way better than on my PS2 Emulator : way less input lag and way better rendering.
I'm officially excited !I feel those games are going to kill my free time soon...

Trying to superplay back label of both games but am having a terribly hard time ^^

lol read the past two pages of this thread.

in brief: day before yesterday MAME 1.40u2 was released, and with it Ketsui and DDP DOJ were added. The emulation is (hilariously) incomplete at this time. Can you take on the Back Label challenge?

Psikyo fan is correct. In u2 things were broken, as of today things are looking really good.

I probably remembering this wrong (and am too lazy to reread this thread) but doesnt the encryption have to do with bullet data?(im on about the data that Guru ripped off that PCB) So untill thats cracked properlly we wont get any decent bullet mazes?

You mean the protection? Nah... just enemy positions and it was a laughable protection scheme at that. The game will be close to perfect once audio is fixed, even though there's a mystery protection command sent when you spawn in DOJ -- it just doesn't seem to do anything.

That makes me feel that fully playable PGM cave games arnt too far away. Hehe tbh I was expecting xbox 360 emulation to come sooner then emulation of any post DDP 2 arcade games :)

I just hope the mame / fba dev teams dont get cold feet

I'm really digging the sped up soundtrack. Hope they don't fix that.
Does DDP2: Bee storm work now as well?

why is DDP 2 PGM? I never knew what type of PCB it was. I remember someone in the forum mentioning that DDP2 is basically a tech demo to get other devs intrested in the hardware so PGM does make sense. Kinda like Epic and their Unreal Tournament series that showcases their Unreal engine
