Contrary to popular belief, I'm not SFKhoa on the leaderboards.

Gaemespot posted their predictably shallow, shitty review the other day.

I posted a predictably deep, decent review a little while ago.

Best part:
The music can't be altered or customized, but it's terrific as it is. The catchy, exciting techno tunes heighten the intensity of the action.
There you have it, it's official: the RFJ soundtrack is terrific. All you haters can fuck off. 8)

TIW!

it took me 2 weeks, but i nabbed that first place spot in RF1 Score Attack with a very awkward run.

i think i did get 100% of all enemies, all Faries/Miculi, and some decent bullet scratching, but it was kinda squirrely.

i just squeaked by your score by around 4800 pts. i was suprised that i did it when my odd run ended. but im happy with all of the work i put into it.

thanks for the help with my dumb questions, and thanks for the replay. couldnt have done it without that im sure.

im having a tough time believeing that.

thanks! im pretty happy that i was able to even do it.

yeah, i found the Aegis slave seemed to be a good speed for me. im sure there's some wiggle room for preference though.

you have the Japanese version of RFA right? what are the top score like on that version (do i even want to know)?

i wonder what the theoreitcal max you could score is... the only thing left i can think of to squeeze more points out of if would be more/better bullet scratching and maybe killing the boss quicker for more time on the second level? not even sure if thats possible.

well, thanks again. have fun getting your spot back, shouldnt be too tough for ya.

I have a question for all those who own the game and can play it...

Does this have an auto fire setting? If so, how rapid is it in terms of the MAMEPlus autofire options?

It does. Auto fire is equivalent to basically any MAMEPlus autofire setting that will allow any ship to just shoot and not charge.

As do I, but some people with more distinguished video game music taste find it cheesy. But hey, it suits the game if nothing else.

Moved the patch discussion to its own thread since it's not related to the game but the 360 hardware.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

you're very much welcome 8) The idea behind it is that the game didn't get nearly enough recognition- and any kind of attention it gets is much better (not just for the publishers) but for the genre as well.

Yeah, I know. I was just being silly. Actually, I thought it was slightly disgusting that the guy said that Raiden Fighters was intended to cleanse his palate for stuff like Pixeljunk Monsters...

but anyway, I still haven't really put much time into this game, but from what I have played, I thought RF1 was pretty decent, but RF2 was awesome. Still haven't tried Jet.

Actually, I think he said he was using it to cleanse his "palette". Maybe he's a painter and he's using the RFA box to scrape dried paint off a piece of board or something.

That's true. So really, we have no idea what the hell this guy is going to do. I'm a little depressed now.

Hi all, sorry if this has been answered previouly, but 31 pages is a lot to read through, especially at work. I just want to know if this is region-locked, as talk of a UK release seems to have gone out the window altogether?

Both the Japanese and US versions are region-locked to their respective areas.

Jesus, either fucking release the thing over here or let me import, why go out your way to screw me over? Not you personally, of course *ahem*. Just frustrating that the 360 seems to be the PS2 of this gen yet the UK gamer seems to be getting a raw deal again.

the American publishers just don't have a euro division.

I'd have thought that these would be ideal fodder for a publisher to pay a few quid for the Euro rights and bung out at a budget price though. Ah well, you think I'd be used to it by now, UK gamers have been shat on since the days of the SNES after all.
