Anybody seen Senko no Ronde?

Post by Sundance »

Or rather the info posted for it? Looks pretty sweet and the concept of merging a fighter w/ a shooter definitely has my curiousity. I haven't seen anthing even remotely like this since Twinkle Star Sprites.

Sorry if this is a doublepost.

Very interesting looking.

I always wanted a manic shooter that was combined with platform elements.

Going between planets or continents would be the shooter portions, inflitrating bases or whatever (gaining new weapons and technology of course) would be the platform (I was envisioning Metal Slug like play in these sections).

I never stay focused on a programming project long enough when not being paid for it to finish anything - so I never started on it.

I thought this was supposed to be a VS. shmup? In which case I could really care less about the game.

Here's a nice picture of the character select screen ("select cartridge?" must a cyberspace "net battle" theme?) from the game's 2nd location test, thanks to jiji and click-stick.com for this:

I don't know, it would have to practically redefine VS. shmups for me to like it more then Change Air Blade.

OT, stinks that that one never got a home port!

The Senko no Ronde website has updated its System section, with what seems to be pictures of the cabinet instructions.

It's over at http://www.grev.co.jp/ronde/system.htm

Fighting game meets shooter. Interesting.

Thanks for the link, Fatal Error. Neat to see pics of the defense system and such. *drools* This could be one interesting 2P game if pulled off right. I'm all for some addictive 2 player shooting/fighting action.

I'll make up my mind once I see some vid. of this game in action, as I really don't like vs. fighters, and this just looks more and more like an attempt at a vs. figher/shmup.

Check out yesterday's news on click-stick's site. There are 2 links to small (shaky cam) video's taken from the game on a location test.
Quality is rough, but at least gives you some impression of how it is in action.
I think it looks very smooth.......

Pretty impressive vids!! The fighting kinda looks like PS2 Zone of the Enders series.

Kron said at click-stick forums that it will be released 3 or 4 months later than arcade version. He previously announced the release of Shikigami no shiro II and others, so I think we could take this confirmation almost official.
