Ah yeah I've seen these a few times, good watches, unfortunate about the quality though. Apparently Tezuka has since counterstopped the JP original as well, but I've not been able to find footage of it.

e: I just moused over your Twitch link and learned you're Solunas on Twitch. Thanks for playing Tatsujin Ou the other day, it's actually a favorite of mine and the hate some cliques here have given it in recent years is disappointing.

e²: Caught that twitch streamer (owarabi) live last night. Really good run, he was in loop 5 somewhere before I started falling asleep in my chair and had to go to bed. Unfortunately the chat was JP-user-only so I couldn't praise his skills. Watched the rest of it via vod - game over on 5-10. 19.8 million

My Vulkaiser clear on hardest difficulty, it's a pretty obscure game, couldn't find any super hard videos anywhere and had to route it all on my own.

Nicely done. Those were some non trivial patterns in the second half of the run.

Vulkaiser is one of Astro Port's most enjoyable games. Glad to see someone tackled Super Hard!

Hey, I got a question... Do you know any bigger YouTuber/Twitch streamer, (in terms of subscribers, followers or view count) who is still actively streaming Shmups

Let me turn the question back on you and ask: What are the similarities between shmups and roguelikes to you? And what games do you see as representative of each genre?

Also, did you mean to post in this thread?

Good point made @ Madheadgames. Couldn't tell if he/she was serious or joking with that question.

I was there for that, it was epic.

Tonight's run was cut short by a nasty bug: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/153999365?t=01h14m05s

It was 2-4 (I think), he timed out the boss, but the spinny turret persisted into the next stage, and it shot him down instantly with no way to avoid it. He then struggled with recovery and made it through another stage before game over.

I've seen in some other video on YT (don't remember what it was) of the same boss advancing up the screen past the level complete cutoff. I wonder what's causing that...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4Ct8X_Inu4 Not much here on this channel, but everything is crazy and entirely shmup related. This is his latest livestream from a couple of hours ago. Player has a 115mill Beast Wing run in Raiden Fighters 2 as well. Whoever this is, they are crazy talented.

New video of no-option play of Gradius III (arcade) up to 3-1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOvMC_1ANxg

There was another video previously shared here demonstrating a similar feat up to 3-6, but that one was with Edit type while this one is with Type C.

I would love to know how many hours of practice goes into getting to such a level. Anyone care to share personal experience on hours of practice for a particular game?
