Shmup Ticker: What are you playing RIGHT NOW?

Post by durias »

As in this very moment.

...or in the very moments after you're done posting here.

This idea was inspired by Twitter. Maybe this ticker idea'll take. Maybe not. 'Scoo either way.

Shikigami no Shiro 2 (Castle Shikigami 2).

I've had it for a while now and I'm itching to move onto other things, but I'm not allowing myself to move on until I get a 1CC on it with a half-way respectable score. If they yanked level 3-1 out of the damned game, it would've happened a long time ago.

Raiden III. Stage 5 in 1 credit already. This game offers fantastic well-thought-out practice options.

Giga Wing 2 - Arcade. It's kicking my ass and I still can't make it past stage 4 yet but it's lots of fun.

About an hour ago I was playing Raiden Fighters (arcade) at the Gameworks in Seattle, WA. They only have one shmup. Shame on you, Gameworks.

Started playing Ibara (PS2) again and am failing miserably for some reason. Half the time I can't make it to the second level. Man, I suck.

Lots of Raiden DX and Sexy Parodius at the moment!

Oh, and some Darius Plus. I'm really enjoying it, too; I used to think I'd never be able to get back into the early Darius titles...

Armed Police Batrider just earlier today. For some reason it wouldn't work in MAME .114 though so I had to play it in the other version I have, .106

Just played Ikaruga. I suck at it now... (Too much work at hand to play, I guess)

ESPGaluda for the PS2. I can get to the very last boss and get his life down to about a quarter of an inch at best in one credit. I suck.

Does the Gameworks in Seattle still have Outrun 2 SP? I remember seeing it back in November...

Ya know? I dunno. I was preoccupied with the fact that they only had ONE shmup. Sheesh.

I'm back to playing ESPgaluda after almost a 2 month hiatus. Dodonpachi always gets random spurts of play from me here and there, but in the end, I've not really put much time into it =/ Same with Radiant Silvergun and Mushihime-sama.

DoDonpachi, finally managed to break the 11 million barrier. I suck.

I've got ESPGaluda, Mushimisame, DoDonpachi Dai-ou-jou and Homura on PS2 in front of me, and I can't play any of them until I get the requisite import enabling gubbins through the post...

Under Defeat - one day I'm going to one-credit this mother on normal...
Dangun Feveron - After playing this one for a couple of minutes bullet dodging in Under Defeat seems way easier :D
Raiden III - 'Cause it feels so good to rip through the levels with the blue laser...just for fun.
Geometry Wars RE - 'Cause the particle effects are so nice...just for fun also.
