Well I didn't want to jinx anything here , but since you mention it I'd say a DC port is very welcome.Kiken wrote:With any luck, we'll see another DC port, ...
BTW. apparently Senko no Ronde is to be released on DC and getting a release 4 months (or more depending on possible extras) after the arcade game. Got it from a reliable source who got the news from Kron (he predicted Chaos Field for DC right). Kron can you confirm or deny this?

Games coming out now for the DC remind me of games being released for the 2600 after it was considered dead. It's good news for those who stuck with their DC's, or those that need new ones because theirs broke...like mine. This game looks decent, and these days I get excited whenever a shmup gets announced. Not like they're making hundreds of them at a time like in the past.

Have you though aobut the possibility of it being intentional?
The battery meter isn't displayed over other graphics and look like intentionally put there in the graphic display as nothing more (or less) than a graqphic. This is defenitely NOT a cell phone game displayed!!!!.

well, being a game developer for 15 years , and now working in the field of celphone games, I can say that :
A : the pixel density is too low to be naomi, let alone an arcade game
B : the screen aspect is exactly that of a celphone
C: the BATTERY AND SIGNAL INDICATOR is just so utterly and BLATANTLY obvious it HURTS!!
D: I'm willing to bet good money on it, you're not...

but wouldn´t the battery meter be displayed over the normal game graphics instead of in a nice apart box onscreen like it is now?
The resolution argument sounds valid though!
Still I am NOT convinced of it being a cellphone shmup.
They list it as a NAOMI game. They only made a NAOMI game before, with no other hardware credits! I believe this to be an NAOMI shmup all the way untill proven wrong......

well, i'lll say it's either a mockup, or its on one of those nice japanese phones that we'll never see....Super Laydock wrote:but wouldn´t the battery meter be displayed over the normal game graphics instead of in a nice apart box onscreen like it is now?

I can't be bothered arging anymore.. you'll see when the site gets updated...
anyone else wanna wager some money???
What if the theme is indeed, "cell-phones". I always thought that the battery meter was your life stock or something and that the In-range metre was some special attack meter. It might be intentional, like Super Laydock mentioned.
My opinion on the matter, of course.
Also, can Java games (if they are indeed using that language) display 3D cell-shading?
EDIT: Also, why would they put an _ac at the end of the html filename? I don't think it's part of the actual title.

Anyway, nice to be able to disagree/discuss on the new forum as well!
Time will tell who was right I suppose.

The positioning of the "reception" and "battery" is kind of funny though.
Who knows - I'm not going to stress over this. It's not like I'll be able to play it in the next 4 years, so any discussion for me at least is purely as a spectator.
Oh, and 1 player only - any non-cell phone shmups lately that have only been 1 person?

I know that I'll probably be barked at, but I'm pretty sure the cell phone thing is just part of the game's art style. There's even a whacked out cell phone on the title screen for crying out loud. It has been confirmed that this is an arcade game on GD Rom hardware and the screens could be for a vertical orientation on arcade hardware. How do you know that the low resloution isn't part of the game's art style or just due to the screenshots being small?
