RQ: Kingdom Grandprix boss strategies

I've been having big problems with the lizard boss in Cold Corridor (I always end up spending two bombs because I can't dodge his bullet arcs) and the final boss of the game (whom I can't stay alive on at all). Anybody here have tips that could help me out on those guys?

Also, I'm interested in learning a bit about the rank system in the game if anyone knows anything about it.
