hi-res poster scans

Post by JigsawMan »

EDIT: I've just upped a slew of shmup wallpapers to the wallpapers directory.

Does anyone have any ultra-hires scans of Cave arcade posters they could send my way? I can provide some ftp space if needed and don;t mind hosting them for a while for others to grab. PM me if you can help.

I'd also be looking for a poster printing service in the UK, so if anyone knows where to look that would be great too. thought I may try http://www.posterxxl.com/ first...

edit: (adding in ftp details)

FlashFXP is a great client if you don't have one already. FTP is capped to 2Mb/s between 9am and 6pm (GMT) and 5Mb/s at all other times. 10 users max. TURN ON PASSIVE (PASV) MODE IF YOU HAVE TROUBLE CONNECTING.

There was someone on the board here who posted some high resolution cleaned up Mushi and Ibara flyers suitable for poster printing. I have the 3 of them I can FTP to you. And of course there are lots of high res scans on The Sheep's website, but may need some touching up for poster size printing.

Found the thread here, with an example of the mushi flyer printed as a HUGE poster...looks fantastic.

It would be nice if someone could post 3 ultra hi-res flyers again. The links in the old thread seem to be broken.

Thanks!

I'll give Dave_K the details of my FTP tomorrow and I'll host them for as long as possible. 4Mb upload so it'll be quick(ish) if they are large files.

I'm looking for something to put on the walls in my den at home, and I'd really like to come up with some sort of Raiden themed poster (since half my PCB collection seems to be Raiden stuff for some reason...) If anyone has hi-res Raiden or Raiden Fighters flyer scans I'd be interested in those...

I'd like to have posters so I can decorate the walls with it. :)

I wonder if there's a high-res scan of Radiant Silvergun?

I think everyone here is using a poster printing service (as also mentioned in the linked thread above).

The only way to do this is to fold up the poster and scan it in one at a time, and then be really good at PHotoshop. Good luck, and cheers to whomever pulls it off.

Of course there are high res scans on The Sheep's website. By the way...what is the url for The Sheep's website? :|

I'm interested in obtaining some of these high res pics too. Don't have a clue about FTP, whatever that is. This is like a secret society or something.

The sheep's website has Cave, Raizing/8ing, and Psikyo tributes sections with scans of flyers and instruction manuals.

As for FTP, Google "FTP client" and learn about the wonderful world of the Internet.

Must have been my cygwin command line client, as I just tried FlashFXP and it worked. Just finished uploading the following:

ibara-pcbflyer_fs.jpg - 12.10M
ibara-rsflyer_fs.jpg - 11.92M
mushi-flyer.jpg - 7.64M

Downloaded the ones you uploaded, Dave_K.; but I forgot to mention that I had already uploaded the Mushihimesama one, but yours looks much cleaner than the one I found. :)

Well, might as well start uploading scans I got from The Sheep's website. I know he doesn't like leechers on his site, so maybe this is an opportunity for everyone here to grab it all in one shot. I know these are not posters, but some are high res enough to be printed as nice looking posters. :D

Uploaded the Ketsui scans (thanks to the real donators zlk, Fuchikoma-x & EightOne).

Ketsui_CabinetSticker.jpg - 670K
Ketsui_InstructionCard.JPG - 5.22M
Ketsui_InstructionSticker.jpg - 2.33M
Ketsui_Marquee.jpg - 17.64M

I'll upload more after work today.

Thanks guys. I can host the files if you need to take the ftp server down. However, I cannot allow public uploading to my webspace.

I didn't know Dave_K. was going to upload The Sheep's promotional / flyer / instruction scans, because I'm currently uploading them right now.

Sorry, dude.

Go for it, I'll can't upload anything else until I get home anyway. I'll look through and upload anything you don't have.

I'm currently uploading the Cave ones, so if you want to go with Psikyo or Raizing / 8ing scans... Feel free to do so. :)

Edit: I hope The Sheep doesn't ban my IP from his site for taking the scans, but if he does, well... I had it coming. Apology in advance, The Sheep.

I think as long as you aren't using leeching tools you are ok. You can't download more than 2 things at a time anyway. I don't have all the scans either, but a few...I was going to see what you uploaded first before going back to the Sheep myself. :-)

***I will be editing this post as I go when the files are uploaded so you guys know what is uploaded.***

Ah, that's good to hear since I downloaded them manually. The uploading part takes forever because of its massive file sizes.

So far I've uploaded:

DangunFeveron_Flyer_front.jpg
DangunFeveron_InstrctionCard.jpg
DangunFeveron_InstructionSticker.jpg

Progear_InstructionSticker_2_engl.jpg
Progear_InstructionSticker_jap.jpg
Progear_MiniPoster.jpg

(***: I uploaded this one since I cropped out the original one to show the picture, but I included this original file in case anyone wants the entire scan. And also, the FTP doesn't allow me to overwrite a file, too.)

Edit: Fuck, I didn't realize you already uploaded the Ketsui ones... (Ketsui_CabinetSticker.jpg - 670K; Ketsui_InstructionCard.JPG - 5.22M; Ketsui_InstructionSticker.jpg - 2.33M; and Ketsui_Marquee.jpg - 17.64M)

Edit #2: That's pretty much all of the Cave scans I've uploaded. Whew, that was a work. Dave_K., shall I go ahead and try to get some Raizing / 8ing or Psikyo scans, too; or do you want to do it?

I got the Progear scans from his site, and printed them off on Glossy photo paper via my hp color printer. They look fucking fantastic. You guys should give it a try if you want to hang up stuff and not pay for kits. I put it on my cabinets. I mean, that is what they are for ~_~.
