That´s not isometric. Viewpoint and Sim City are isometric, this one has this slight perspective tilt thing like Nanostray or Silpheed. And it´s not really that bad either; unlike in Nanostray I hardly noticed it here. Granted, a straight top-down view is always better, but while there are quite a lot bullets sometimes, I don´t really think Cave-like dodging will be required. It makes the game look more lively, actually. Kinda like it.

It's fairly close to Under Defeat in terms of the viewing angle.

get rid of that industrial zone close to the residential one. It's always a good idea to put a commercial zone ( a small one) between industrial and residential ones. Notice the residential zone nearby the industrial one has low-class residences. It's important to raise the value of your land, so you can ask bigger taxes from your sims.

Also, you should not need two police departments so close, as they seem to be covering most of residential areas. And try to raise taxes from polluent industries and lower taxes for the clean ones, your city seems to be kinda polluted.

Oops, sorry, yeah I was talking about the slight perspective shift (yeah we ain't talking Zaxxon here ).

Wow, I almost forgot Under Defeat was the same way (by GREV too). I haven't played that in awhile. Ok, now I feel a little better about it probably not being a major issue.

After watching the in-game footage, I take that back. :? A shitload of bullets, but it looks very messy.

Okay, I´ll let whoever I nicked that image via Google image search from know that.

Suddenly, this game looks a *heck* of a lot more challenging than the previous footage that I'd seen. I like what I'm seeing, but I agree with your assessment word "messy", at least in terms of this particular footage. The multi-color, myriad bullets which somehow magically pass directly through the major attack laser of the boss just seem patently unfair to me.

I'll be dying a *lot*, I can already tell.

Edited to thank the person who made this video available outside of a torrent site. Thanks so much!

It's a pity the way this game looked fun at first, going from the initial images and videos that where released, and then they turned it into a bland 'modern' shmup.

Having watched the videos Kiken linked I must say the game looks rather fun really. Of course, I'm partial to any ground-based shmup and this seems to make good use of ground-based obstacles at least - without the often used, but always annoying, jump mechanism. I would guess the game is a little to casual for most though. It does look a little loose, almost incidental in parts, and the bullets are slow and come in easily dodgeable patterns.

I think this is one of those cases where they weren't targeting the really crazy shmup players, with the slow, easy to avoid bullets and jumping gimmick. Unfortunately, those are the only ones left over in Japan, it seems.

It took G.Rev long enough to announce this.

So it looks like this is out in June, with both a limited edition and regular edition according to Famitsu.

So I guess the question now is; will the LE include an AST CD or a drama CD?

Sold. I'm sick of LEs coming with arrange CDs or stupid shit in general. An original soundtrack and art book, or DVD should be the standard.
