Geek vs. Hipster

massive but very helpful to see! Wonder where that originally came from; I'm tempted to hunt it down.

It is wrong on a few points though - some of us "geeks" are looking like hipsters because of some kind of ill-conceived reverence for the past, and mere sticker shock. I can't really imagine any hipster with a serious camera. They call the geek pretentious, but not the hipster?! Plus, beer, how many people say no to beer?! (I usually do but that's just me.)

I used to have a cat that'd leave dead birds, mice and the occasional lone gopher(!) on the backyard porch from time to time. I'd usually have to scoop it up with a shovel and toss it in the garbage can. The cool thing is I'd just whistle and the family cat would come running to greet me. The trick was to whistle kinda like in the low tone of a cat's meow would work wonders (and not that of the high pitched type of whistling).
