How much are they Rancor? Let me know if you'd rather keep this to PM.

wow - I've gotten a flood of PMs since posting this. A few people have already paid, and of course theirs will be mailed out first, but I'm just worried what kind of stock MAK have in these boards. Everytime I've been I don't think I've seen more than 4. So - let me pop in there today and see what kind of stock they have before I get myself in trouble and promise anymore boards to people that I can't fulfill. Anyhow, assuming that I can get the boards, the price (depending on shipping) will be:

SAL - $98.00
EMS - $108.00

But like I said, dont order yet - I've got to see what kind of stock they have. I'll post here again when I have more info.

Thanks for posting the pricing rancor. I don't think I can justify the cost yet, so I might try homebrewing something simple.

What does the C-sync signal look like on a scope? It wouldn't be as simple as a logic-level pulse that comes along every screen refresh, would it? I remember connecting just the C-sync to a TV and getting a complete picture in black-and-white, so getting clever with AND gates and timers probably still wouldn't work, right?

Otherwise, I guess I might just settle for an unsynchronized autofire.

it's probably almost that simple. maybe you have to divide it in half so the game can register a release. with say, two flip-flops. maybe use 3 or 4 with a switch to have two different speeds.

Now I've done the split, I'll carry on!

Basically, I have one of these installed in my stick, and as specified when I put in an order to have one made over on AO, it doesn't work with all games. Or maybe I'm just using it wrong!

Here's a pic of it:

I built one of those passive autofire circuits, but I found that it works much better if I hook up the oscillator to a 5V signal rather than the capcitor. It's no longer a passive circuit but I have a more consistent fire rate.

It works pretty well for a cheap solution. Of course I'd like to pick up one of those MAK circuits when I can spare an extra $100 :).

Picked up the autofire boards for those who already paid me. And that was all the stock they had. :?
I asked them when they'll get more, and they said they had no idea.... So.... I guess I'll keep checking periodically and post here when I have more info.

Almost forgot about this thread.

Here is another example of a homebrew 6-way switchable syncronous autofire circuit + headphone mod available on Yahoo Japan. I installed it on the P2 side, but doesn't really interfere with play. Jamma adapter required, or you can pay extra for one already wired up.

This is on par with the modded Garegga cab at Hey Arcade. Now I just need an external reset switch.

Item received, and it works a beauty for Outzone. Cheers rancor. I'll leave you feedback right now!
