Started playing this today, surprisingly "easy" - Flame Viper sort of rips through everything. Was hoping for an Advanced ALL before the weekend is over - got another run before that one to the final stage with less than 6m and ended up 2cc'ing it - but 1. a lot of chain-dying in that 12m run because of missing a lot of powerups after each death (confused by the "1P" thingy - yeah that was really stupid) and 2. one of the arrow keys randomly dying on me after about two and a half hours of total play time (mostly practicing the bosses in Special Course, and a couple of the most time-effective scoring tricks). Gotta fix this keyboard quickly!

By the way, the "Unlimited" version is kosher, right? I'm using Unlimited/JP, the original post doesn't mention versions but I'm assuming Unlimited/JP is the standard one.

All-around ineptitude during stage 6, let an extend fall off the screen during stage 7, and then Golem decided to squeeze me into a corner - I bawwww'd so much at the RNG screwing me over that I forgot I could probably just have bombed it into oblivion.

Boof baff! I did 1cc it earlier with a lower score but since I've 1cc'd it and am playing for score... Check out the score above in AKRATEN's post! Again, thanks to AKRATEN for tips and tricks, and letting me play on his cab/PCB. It's really some good times playing for score with friends and cheering them on and helping each other getting better scores. Friendly competition and keeping positive is what it's all about!

Hey Akraten, are you gonna ALL Advanced someday? I have been waiting for like 2 years for someone to 1cc Advanced course again

Believe me or not. I was thinking the same after I 1cc'd Normal Couse circa 2007 myself... It wasn't until like late 2009 when I beat Special Course... having beaten final boss there and all. I gained tons of confidence and decided to take on Advanced Course. 4 months later, got the ALL.

I might throw some suggestions to those who will dare to take on advanced course:
- The rank increase is pretty insane so I RECOMMEND sticking to 2 lives until stage 7. That's when extra lives will come in handy.
- Have a problematic section? Make a save-state on it and keep repeating it until you are confident you mastered it. I did that for last 2 stages and bosses, it was worth it.
- Try to chain as much as you can... without suiciding and mostly bombing. Last two stages have some chains which you can no-miss no-bomb yet gain extends. But that does depend on your ship. HOWEVER for beginners, i'm leaving this point out.
- Don't be frustrated if you get your butt kicked far in or earlier. Just keep playing and believe in yourself, if Advanced 1cc was something I was capable of as an amateur, so you will be to achieve it too. So keep playing and enjoy what you have.
- I recommend spending 10 hours of playtime minimum practicing last boss on advanced. He is very tough to master, that's why it takes so long to be good against him. ALSO I recommend spending a while practicing stage 6's bosses. ALL OF THEM. They're a major bottleneck to all players.

Order: Railroad, Desert, Seaside, Naval (Why that order? Shortest to longest before boss. Note: Bahamut is EASILY my least favorite of the 2-5 bosses...)
Cloud order: Only met Jabberwock before an overcorrection caused me to BACK into one of the ballistic orb waves...(And Jabberwock's one of the EASY mid-bosses. Kraken and Grell make me squirm...)
