Post subject: Bad Ebay seller warning: "yamatoku-shinyuku"

Just a heads-up to all shmups members:

Ebay seller yamatoku-shinyuku has been auctioning off a bunch of premium Cave PCBs and Neo Geo and PC Engine games, but does not ship items! Instead he files complaints with Ebay that the sellers did not pay their items!

I already thought the auctions were fishy, since the PCB pictures were stolen from YAJ auctions by starpine, and it appears he uses "yamatoku" in his name to make it appear as though he is connected with the respected import gaming store.

Luckily I didn't bid on any of his items, but some people from triggerzone.de got seriously fucked over.

The seller apparently lives in Japan and has a Dutch bank account, if you have any information who he is please tell me, so I can give it to the people who got ripped off.

This particular seller, yamatoku-shinyuku, doesn't have anything for sale on eBay right now according to the below listed link...and that's a good thing, don't want others to get ripped off -- is he trying to be like another Japhei wanna-be aka Casey McMahon?

If something is too good to be true, then it probably is...it's buyer beware!

Thanks for the heads up, CIT...

Hmm, isn't this our own DreamerNL? Check the ID history:

yamatoku-shinyuku Dec-05-07 Present
kami_no_yurikagou Mar-30-04 Dec-05-07
captain_nintendo Oct-17-01 Mar-30-04

And then on this forum post, where the link from DreamerNL to kami_no_yurikagou is established: http://altpop.com/stc/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=1528

The deals-gone-bad are being discussed in this thread:

http://www.triggerzone.de/forum/viewtop ... 5&start=15

I'm not going to comment any further on the identity of the seller, since I'm not personally involved, so I am certainly not qualified to make any accusations, although I am aware of the ID links you list.
I just felt it necessary to inform people excercise caution with the above Ebay seller.

Good find, Ganelon. I think it's really important that associations like that are made aware for others. I almost inquired about the Border Down he had for sale -- good thing I didn't.

I was under the impression he was posing as a Japanese person... if not, then yes, not hard at all. Before Paypal, I had people mail money orders to my parents in Texas. :)

This surely is a strange situation. I know Dreamer_NL (not in person, but he also regurlarly visits my forum) and I wouldn't expect something like this from him, but I will tell him about this. Because of the Dutch account it makes it easier to track people down, I will let you know if I find something out.

Hi, thanks for your help, I'm one of the buyers. Well, another part of the puzzle. I get more and more every day. Now would be a good time for Mr. Dreamer to explain what happened and to turn things to an good end. Maybe it's your last chance to stop the whole thing. I am still listening ...

Has anyone here ever bought something from DreamerNL?
I bought ESP2 from yamatoku-shinjuku so I know his name and email address.
If anyone could tell me the name and email address from DreamerNL I could see if he is telling the truth or not.

I don't know if this forum is a proper place for a witch hunt/inquisition type of trial....

DreamerNL seems so sincere there, and People have to be considered innocent until proved guilty, and not the contrary.

I agree. DreamerNL stepping forward and being very open and approachable should be a good sign right? It would be a shame for an honest seller to loose his reputation over something that isn't his fault...

Well, it's very interesting that you deleted your complete "explanation" post. But don't worry, the police got it allready printed. 8)

I know several people including me who made a report at their police station and the lawyers of Ebay are involved, too. Hopefully the responsible person will burn in hell for that scam.

I followed the links to his feedback - that says people were paid back. Are you one of those people?

He said that he shared the ebay account with his flatmates, and that he personally hasn't been using it anymore for years.

Yes, I am. I didn't receive any money back. Well, there are several things done by the seller to do this fraud, but I won't tell the details at this point cause I don't want to hamper the work of the police.
