Although I guess I'd just need the 360 hard drive to not fail, which sounds a lot safer than needing the junky console itself to stay functional.
If your files become corrupted, say a harddrive failure, when you replace the drive you can download everything again from the download history tab. Considering that MS have now unified Live between Windows, XBox and WindowsPhone, I seriously doubt the service is going anywhere in the foreseeable future (not to mention that Live is an extremely profitable revenue stream for MS). I would be more concerned with your actual game save files becoming corrupted than simple DLC components which can be re-downloaded at any time.
