Is there a way to bypass the 'post confirmation' screen? Besides quickly clicking 'return to your post'?

Small suggestion, take it or leave it.

On AO, a first post has to be approved by a moderator. It all but eliminates spambots crapping all over the place.

Possible bug concerning editing your posts. Just now I went to post an image in one of my posts, but accidently I hadn't resized it properly and it was massive. I resized the image and reuploaded it but no matter what I did it was still the same massive image that was showing up in my post preview. In the end I had to delete the (resized) image from my hard drive and start again from scratch to get it to display at the right size :x .

Also a week or two back I'd quoted someone in a post but somehow I'd ended up with two quote boxes surrounding the one quote. Again, it wouldn't let me change it and I just had to post it how it was.

Post approval for the first post of a new account is now turned on, let's see how it works out.

I'm giving Chrome an honest shot. As such, I don't see a "minimum font" size which makes up for the retarded shrinking done by CSS. I have my default font set to Tahoma 10, but in actuality it's all much smaller. Anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah it happened to me too. I've seen reports of this on other forums, seems there's a bot or tool now that tries to bruteforce passwords, i saw a bunch of odd looking connections coming from a tor exit point.

^Had this just happen twice in a row now. Must be an automated process - sickening, I expect such things getting worse in the future. Once they succeed on forums opening the door to paypal is one step closer...

I went through a bout of this recently too. It's cleared up now, and my account seems safe. Certainly needs an eye kept on it.

Couldn't report a post tonight because someone had already beaten me to it.

I'm glad that there's others sick to death of worthless posts, but it kind of takes the influence out of the action if you're no longer entitled to vote because somebody else has.

In short, please allow posts to be reported more than once. This isn't actually the first time I've been unable to report a post because it's already been reported. And yes, it was of the same person.

I don't know why, but some PMs seem to never get sent. They stay in the outbox permanently, or for a really long time... any idea?

PMs stay in the sender's Outbox until the recipient actually reads them.

Anyone else getting an Error 500 when accessing shmups.system11.org or hitting the board index? For awhile I thought the site in general was down.

Fixed. My fault - backup script wasn't cleaning up ancient backups -> disk full -> phpbb template cache starts generating blank templates.

hi is there a spoiler function for posts and if yes how do you activate it?
if not could you envisage it?
I don't know if it's a big thing to add but spoilers are sometimes welcome.
happy new year!

There's no spoiler function, probably not going to happen either, at least not in the near future.

As a work-around you can change the spoiling text's font size from Normal to Tiny, so that people can easily skip it and will have to work a bit to see what it says.

Darth Vader is Luke's father!

Code:
[size=50]Darth Vader is Luke's father![/size]

Changing the size value to something smaller makes the font even smaller and harder to read.

Darth Vader is Luke's father!

Starting today, the new post / no new post / annoucement icons all disappeared and only shows text in their place.

Image

That's on Firefox. On Explorer they all show as a broken image icon. Did something happen to the forum or is it only me?

Seems to be fine here, including using wget to bypass my browser cache. I don't know if my ISP runs a transparent cache (I've heard that they do in some areas) and don't have a means handy to definitively bypass one.

It's still bugged here. No idea what caused this, I didn't install anything recently.

EDIT: Well, 2 months later the issue solves by itself. Weird.

I don't know if this has mentioned before.

When a user writes a post and new posts by other users have been added to a thread during this operation, it is possible to edit the post.

I just added one post, but I was asked if I wanted to edit my post, because the forum was reading my own new post as coming from a DIFFERENT user. So, I ended up adding the same post three times, before the loop ended. I cancelled the copy posts.
