Welcome to Violent City! This thread is for Raizing's fantastic Armed Police Batrider. Incredibly easy to pick up and play, but with immense depth, and tons of scoring secrets. I'm taking over from the fantastic job Kiel did of managing the old thread, and many thanks to him for running it for so long. I've gone ahead and updated with all the new scores, and added a new board as well ^_^

Scores for Batrider Japan Version B preferred (Korean Version B also accepted, Japan Version A must be denoted on score post), with everything set to defaults (1.5mil per Extend) thanks ^_^
Feel free to use Team Edit and Stage Edit to your desire (it's recommended that you do, to maximise scoring).

Hi Icarus, todo bien?

As you know, I'm practicing with Garegga and I didn't manage to yet 1cc it (chek my new post in Garegga ST if interested)... but as a Raizing fan I like to play and practice on other great Raizing titles, with Batrider as one of my favourites... so I ask you (almost for curiosity) to what version of Batrider you refer in this thread (Japan A, Japan B, and what extends, 1.000.000, 1.500.000 and so on).

Normal Course
DEL - 5,788,850 - ALL - Strawman (A), Carpet (C), Silver Sword (B)

I really ballsed this run up in spectacular fashion.
I missed the ST2 bonus Boss by somehow losing a life on the normal ST2 Boss, thereby missing out on 500,000 points.
I compounded the error by losing my medal chain towards the end of ST4.
Could I make more mistakes?
Yes of course I did!
I added insult to injury by not triggering Sobut and Envy at the end of ST6.
All in all I missed out on about 1,000,000 points.
Simply triggering the ST2 bonus Boss would have netted me 6.2mil.
6.7mil was possible if all criteria were met

My only saving grace on this run was the fact that I used Colliseum's Bashinet 2 to medal all the way back up to max from a standing start. Plus surviving both ninjas.

Landshark - I should be getting my first PC in two weeks time, but I still won't be using Mame much. Luckily I can install my boards in an arcade and play them there. You should really watch cigs' replays, as he's the Raizing Champeen'.

landshark- I've only made one Batrider replay, and that's just Stage 1 (it's linked in the strat thread, I think). I really prefer playing on PCB and I don't have any capture equipment for it.

If you like send me a pm on how to record an inp that everyone will be able to watch (what mame version to use,etc.) and maybe I can throw something together.

Question for cigs:- Just before the first form of Discharge ST7, there are about 8 gun emplacements which shoot bullets if you arrive at low rank, or lasers if you arrive at high rank. If you encounter the lasers, is there a blind spot in the top right or top left corners

If it's the part I think you mean with the turrets just before the boss-

I just take advantage of Strawman's lock-on options and position myself so that they never get a chance to fire, then get destroyed as I pass. Every time I'd forget and end up out of position there it was certain death.

Start at the top of the screen, make sure that one option is locked onto each turret, then move down with them so they can't fire.

You probably already know this though, sorry I can't be of more help.

Did you ever try to 1CC Advance Course with a Team to unlock all the Advance extra Bosses like Black Heart M.K.2 and Glow Squid? - Obviously its very difficult...but fun in a sick rank sort of way. So far I've tried this a couple of times and died on Blk Hrt M.K.2.
I suppose its the only way to make inroads on Laos' mad 27mil WR

Where did you find the world records? Do you know about some good Batrider information site or superplays (a great game faq woul'd really help wiyh this game)? The only superplays I can find are those on www.mog-rep.net , but they are inp files and I can't make them work on MAME...

And the perfect all boss run it's definitely hard to do: even if you have to suicide to "switch character", you actually have to no-miss the game, suiciding only at the right moment, since if you die at the wrong time you lose the chance to meet the secret boss... I love this game

Del, have you tryed the replays on mog-rep site? I can't make them work or simply don't find the right version of MAME. They shoul'd be really interesting.

Made a stage order selection mistake, choosing Airport as ST2, which meant I had to destroy Envy at the end of ST6.
Everything triggered including both ninjas, but despite getting 1 special level up on ST4, Blunt and Sobut were not triggered (at least 400k miss).

Strange. I can download those Batrider inp from mog-rep, but can't see them. If you want, I coul'd try to send you the material you're interestend into via programs of sort: if you are interested, please PM me.

And what is k-lite megacodec pack? These are MAME .inp (input) replays, that don't require a codec, since they are memorized button patterns that are automatically executed in MAME to pull off the same runs made by the authors. If I'm wrong, explain to me: I'd really like to see Batrider demonstrations, they are very rare.

I think I've gotten all 3 bosses before on this stage - but I have no idea how. I usually seem to draw 2.

I'm also not sure why I occasionally draw this special boss at the end of the sky stage. It's boss that starts off as red, then the ass-end of it comes down and connects with it and I proceed to lose all my extra lives.

Do you have one of the Mahou Daisakusen (Gain, Chitta, Miyamoto, Bornham, Car-Pet) characters? If so you usually face him.

Extra bosses show up on 5 if you get special option and special shot powerups previously. The other boss depends on your stage order.
