Doesn't Shmupmame3b have that glitch with Batrider where you don't get tick points from damaging enemies? That used to be my experience and I switched to Wolfmame for Batrider.

Well I frequently milk invulnerable parts of bosses with Carpet, and I definitely get points out of it. Seems to work fine with other characters as well too. I picked 3b because Aquas twitch page mentioned that version being better for the Yagawa Bat Trilogy.

Aha, must be a weird rom-emulator interaction then, glad it's not a problem for you.

After seeing Waah play, I felt like trying this game again and this came so quickly, I am stunned!

New Batrider Highscore, H4! I'm going to stream the INP on my channel right now. http://www.twitch.tv/chumlum/

Advanced Course
chum - H,418,660 - ALL-11 - Carpet (S) / Flying Baron (C) / Miyamoto (C) - WolfMAME 1.06 (Japan ver.B)

The first half of the run was garbage, but somehow I made up for it, and Gigantech was INSANE. Now, If I could've kept the medals and if the first half of the run wasn't awful, then I could've been happy with the score. Right now, I'm happy with how ridiculous Gigantech was, but the score is a bit underwhelming at the same time.

Really nice chum, you finally did a team run! Did you trigger Bashi R and Glow Squid? Not gonna lie, I really want to counter this score. :)

Advanced Course
Noah! - D,459,280 - ALL-7 - Maria (C) - Shmupmame 4.2

ran across that one post by icarus where he mentioned that maria is in the wr team and i was all like damn so she is viable and decided to do a few runs to see what all she can do. turns out she can do a fair bit!

but yeah all the bosses are still trash though. i actually did figure out a solid bazzcok strategy (and the way things pan out it's probably gonna be the only maria boss strat a team play will see) but i chickened out here.

video up for anyone who wants to see. big thanks to chempop, despatche, del, and everyone who watched the last one. oh and thanks to aquas, chum, and everyone puttin up videos for me to crib from.

anyway time to start doing team runs so uhh see you in 2020

Happy to get a good normal course score, 8.1 was my goal and I just barely got it! Messed up and lost car-pet so didn’t trigger bashi-mk2, and only fought 1 rival. On the plus, I fought Blackheart, Gob Robo, Bashi mk1, and both ninjas :D

chempop - 8,116,950- 5 (all)- Car-Pet (S), Maria (C), Baron (C) - PCB Japan ver.B

Not a score run by any means, but I might as well submit the ALL that I just got:

Code:
Advance
Shepardus - 7018900 - ALL - Shorty(B) solo - UME 0.155

^Congrats Shepardus!
Not an easy ALL, and a very interesting ship choice. I'll take a look at that ship.

Shorty B is excellent for a first 1CC due to the good bomb and incredibly powerful homing options. Much better than Strawman in my opinion.

Just realized I hadn't cleared the Special Course, so I went ahead and did that:

Image

As I expected, not too difficult after clearing the Advance Course. Envy's a pain though.

Code:
Special
Shepardus - 4244820 - ALL-9 - Shorty (B) - UME 0.155

Not a proper score submission as I plan on smashing this still. But, have an I score.

Finally a new perfect best since getting that car-pet B.6. I had maybe 5 more mid-B runs with a team, but always choking right before breaking my car-pet highscore.. until now.

I wish I was happy with this, BUT I didn’t even take Grubby down and had 3 poor panic bombs which didn’t quite take him. If only he started releasing his drones I could have maybe grabbed the next extend... damn, should have been a much better score.

[edit] Gave it another whirl and did a little better, made it past grubby and got that C extend, but blew it in the lab because rank was nuts and there was popcorn everywhere.

chempop - C,251,650 - 8 - Maria (B), Baron (B), Car-Pet (S)- PCB Japan ver.B
