I always regretted dropping this game before I could get a good run out of it. Seeing Jaimers come back and make a bunch of progress motivated me start playing too. :mrgreen:

I didn't record the input since I was practicing with my save states and decided to play a credit before quitting, but I died in 1-5, 2-2, 2-3, and 2-4. I'll probably switch to the 360 version now that a good score & a clear is a possibility.

Lost my chance at 1.4B because I tried to rush the x2 bee in 2-5 and wound up dying in the process. (;一_一)


I got screwed on the 1-4 boss too. Today he did the 'bad' spinning disc pattern TEN TIMES IN A ROW for me (across two credits, including 2-4). What are god damn odds?

Some context :
As I believe I talked about earlier on this forum, I had a mid-term goal and a ultimate goal that I wanted to reach in the future. Since I had done quite a bit of practicing here and there since my last score and before and after the recent MIG & Stunfest, I started a slow series these past weeks where I played a few runs a day to try and reach the mid-term goal within a month if possible. This mid-term goal was beating ISO's score from the superplay DVD, which is 2.580B.

I'm pretty sure I won't improve on this score any time soon because I'm satisfied with this score and I'll probably be playing DFK or SDOJ next.

Absolutely amazing, congrats on the record!!!. Wow, watching the replay was really intense, mad skills overall and you make really sick dodges on Hibachi.

Stupid question of the week now. Why does the score marker count upwards at the start of a stage? It´s really notorious on 2-2, where you are just flying around and meanwhile score keeps going up. The game lags when updating end of stage bonuses and is still catching up?

Sad i have no better things to ask atm :oops:

No problem man, no question is stupid, that stuff is not obvious !

The maximum bonus in DDP triggers when you pick up bombs and your bomb stock is full. It increases as you pick up more bombs (*X multiplier) and stops when you use a bomb or die. Maximum bonus adds a certain number of points to your score every FRAME (~60 times per second). It represents a big part of the maximum possible score (a little under 50%). It is inactive during bosses. Its value doubles in second loop.

Here I bombed at 2-2 boss and then picked up a new bomb in stage 3 without dying in between, so you can see Maximum Bonus stops (nothing when 2-3 starts), and restarts when I pick up a new bomb (multiplier decreased by one).

Eheh that's what I intend on doing! Just will need to grab a XBOX and hook it to my computer monitor (& keyboard) which annoys me quite a bit but I'll probably do that sooner than later.

I'm so jealous how you can get runs like this after an absurdly low number of tries while I spend many hundreds of hours languishing in failure. Have you heard of some of the shit WY has been doing in this lately? I see no reason you can't get on that level if this is what you do right after getting out of bed.

I don't know man, I think the recent live runs helped me deal with nerves even better during runs cause I trained myself at not feeling stress on stage, and also since I have finished learning the whole game I've basically been doing only full rank 2-5 & Hibachi practice (with some 2-4 and a bit of other parts here and there), and that's a great way to get better overall I guess O_O I do feel like I'm stronger than ever right now tbh.
