Hey welcome!

The easiest way to tell is by counting the loops. If you've finished the game already and it doesn't restart at a harder difficulty (the second loop) then you have the Japanese version. The US/World version is known to have two loops.

Since you've ALL3'd the game, I'd say you have the Japanese version. ^_^

sweet, this game is right down the street from me at the lion's lair arcade in Vancouver. I'm pretty new to it, and not sure if I really like it yet. But I'll give it a go. As long as I'm not distracted by KOFXI

US Version
Twiddle - 88,179,812 - Slave (Judge Spear) - 1-Phase 2 - [MAME]

The US revision, despite having the exact same rank increase rate as the Japanese version, is easier to score in as the Miclus activation time is half a second as opposed to two in the other versions. Nearly all of the Miclus spots are sniper spots, so this is a blessing.

I'm convinced that your score is largely determined by how long you can go through the simulation stages without dying.

Since about version 0.94, yes. As far as I know, any newer build will play it.

You will want the sets:

rfjet (parent)
rfjetj (Japanese)

The US and Asia versions are roughly the same as the parent romset.
The US single board version (rfjetus) may have problems relating to the NVRAM folder. If you're trying to play that version in particular, try one of the other versions for now.

Just curious, for those who are getting their scores on MAME, what kind of control setup are you using, joystick I presume? Is it as good as the arcade joystick?

ALSO: I've been getting really...addicted to RFJET lately. I just spent four hours at the arcade today playing it. Grabbed 2 all-time high scores, working on grabbing all of them before I try tackling the slave high score... which in fact beats all of your scores. This guy, I know him as "Virus" scored 102.. or was 107 million with the Judge Spear slave. He's a cocky asshole about Raiden, but he's fuckin' good. Unfortunatly, all the times I've seen him play, he just dies and gives up. Figures, that's what the average Raiden player does around where I play.

I'll have to get one of my buds to take a picture of my highest score on the machine. I got a Fairy Hi-score at 75 mil. Next to that, my highest is the Aegis IV with 72 I believe, or the Blue Jav with 71. Got that score today.

I freaking love this game, though. I won't stop... heheeh. Just reg'd to the forums too, I'm in search of RFJET info.

The US Version of Raiden Fighters Jet is bloody ridiculous on 2nd loop. Every enemy tank, or fighter releases a cluster of ultra slow bullets when destroyed but also fires fast bullets when engauging in attack. 2nd loop is beyond my skill.

Got this score a few nights ago at a local arcade.

Got some scores to fill the board. Can more than one of mine be on there? These are my top 6 scores. I jotted these down at the arcade tonight. As for the stages... some of them I'm not certain: but I guessed to the best of my recollection for the griffin and blue javeline. The rest I'm certain of the stage I was on. Sorry I don't have the pictures to prove it... but you have my honor. Hehe, if I get access to a digicam sometime, I'll let you know.

US Version:

Aquas - Ixion - 82,399,904 - 1-Phase 2 - PCB
Aquas - Fairy - 75,819,556 - 1-Phase 2 - PCB
Aquas - Blue Javeline - 72,507,824 - 1-Phase 1 - PCB
Aquas - Miclus - 70,836,156 - 1-Phase 2 - PCB
Aquas - Aegis IV - 68,290,507 - 2-level 05 - PCB
Aquas - Griffin - 63,310,528 - 1-Phase 1 - PCB

(my initials are LWS =) )

I'm impressed with my Fairy and Aegis IV scores. Griffin was kinda surprising too, actually, once you hybrid-ixion the griffin, it is KICKASS with those sweeping lazers. I think I could have gotten a higher score, but I hadn't tried it since I got the score that beat the old one. I worked on the Fairy and Miclus A LOT. The Fairy was my first score I beat on this machine, and I beat it by about 6 million too (after 10 dollars of quarters?). Blue Jav and Ixion weren't a very big challenge. Which is why I'll be aiming for a higher score with the ixion in the future. The Aegis IV simply cannot handle the real phase stages... so I accidentally went on the loop and achieved much better results.
