Homura 2 in development

Post by Thunder Force »

Skonec's update this month, poorly translated via Babelfish, confirms work is underway on Homura 2.

I hope they put in a red blood option. That green stuff is just screaming to be turned red.
Feedback will set you free.

I keep hoping someone will discover a cheat to turn proper blood on - I'm SURE I saw it with red in initial promo screens.

Yeah, the loketest videos showed a ridiculous amount of red blood spraying around as a reault of the Stage 1 boss' defeat.

Sorry for the thread necromancy. I'm sure this is possible, by simply ripping the CD to an ISO image, finding the hex address of the green blood value and changing it to red, then re-burning the ISO back to CD or run via HDLoader. Finding (then patching) that hex location/value in the ISO image is the only challenge. Maybe we could pool some money to get some hacker to look for it?

Well, technically it was me. And I spent five minutes looking for thread so as not to make a new one, and anyway that's what we are supposed to do, right?

This seriously has to be done.

lol..call me an ass- but that was one of my bigger gripes with the game, actually. Being censored makes me feel like a kid with a parent covering my eyes on a 'bad part' of a movie. That's no good : P

I thought Skonec was developing Psyvariar 3 but Homura 2 is still great news.

As far as I am concerned Homura 2 is better news than Psyvariar 3, but anyway where did you hear about that? A link would be greatly appreciated.

Actually I have no proof about Psyvariar 3. Its more of a rumor that I heard from somebody in these forums.

I just played through Homura on Normal mode and although very enjoyable, there is only 4 levels. If I play on a harder difficulty are there extra levels?

Judging from the year and a half of silence on the subject, the game has probably been canned, unfortunately. I'd love to see it though. I too thought Homura was a solid game.

The Shinobi TATE hack and slashing you do in the game is fun. If only they can improve upon it and allow maybe a stronger attack if you hold the button down longer. Also they should implement more fireing weapons and allow more upgrades. The biggest problem with the original is that its VERY short. The sequel better have at least 7 or 8 levels.

Or what? You won't buy it?

I don't mind short and sweet games. It's basically a price issue. People complain about short games because they just spent 60 bucks on them. If they were 30 or 20 or 10 bucks no one would complain.

But you can't judge the quality of a game on its price/longevity ratio. After all, if a game gives you 10 enjoyable hours you can't blame it for not giving you 20.

At least these are my thoughts on the subject...

What Homura DID fix though, is the annoying shortness of the Psyvariar stages, which always end JUST at the moment where you've built up a good buzz... So it's not the overall game length which bothers me in Psyvariar, but the way that game length is divided between individual stages.

That would be cool to see a shmup have 20 levels and have save point systems along the way so you dont have to play through all 20 levels on 1 sitting.

I would buy Homura 2 if it only had 4 levels just because I find Skonec's works to be very enjoyable. I am disappointed that the high doesnt last long. Yes, Psyvariar and Homura are short and sweet like you said.
