Progear release a possibility?!
Elixir pointed out that capcom is holding a vote for something involving their 30year anniversary. A possible release? A meaningless popularity contest? I have no idea. In the last couple hours Progear has gone from 5% to 17%, lets help it win by a landslide eh? One vote per day I reckon.

I voted for Progear too. Hopefully this isn't just going to be an iOS port.

Since Alien vs Predator is also on there I doubt it's for a port, but anything Progear at this point would be neat.

Voted!
Does Capcom own the rights to Progear? Would the be able to just port it (or possibly make a sequel) without Cave's consent?

Re: Progear release a possibility?!
I'm very pleasantly surprised 3rd Strike is both high in the rankings and beating SF4 by such a huge margin, would like if that sends a message to Capcom.
I was split on what to vote for but the poll just let me vote for both 3rd Strike and Progear one after the other, does it only take into account your last vote perhaps?
Looked again and standings already look very different btw, it's 19XX vs Progear vs 3rd Strike.

Yeah, that certainly makes it a bit doubtful. But I'll take what I can get at this point.NTSC-J wrote:Since Alien vs Predator is also on there I doubt it's for a port, but anything Progear at this point would be neat.

that would be so sick. I already own the CPS2 board, but I would gladly buy anything Progear. honestly one of my favorite CAVE games.

Dimahoo's convoluted item collection sucks. Progear all the way!
Progear and 19xx appear to be topping the list at 22% each.

but Dimahoo is awesome! I would much rather vote for Progear, but is Dimahoo even on the list? It should be, but I'm not seeing it.

not to bring this off topic, but I didn't realize Dimahoo wasn't well-liked around here.

Re: Progear release a possibility?!
I also voted for Progear.
It's great when porting realized if.
However, if you think about it calmly, it is doubtful much something is to occur in such a simple web questionnaire.
So I'm going to try to send mail.
"Please to be portable. Staff to specify the M2!"

Re: Progear release a possibility?!
you never know autumnmotor.... CAVE went with a Guwange port based off a poll as did Rising Star with some of their ports. It's totally possible even if it does seem improbable.

Re: Progear release a possibility?!
I voted too, even though I don't like Progear much... hehe
imo a Dimahoo port that took advantage of the extra screen space to display info about the treasures you've collected, what's remaining, etc would actually be really cool. I never got into the scoring for that game because it felt like too much trouble to figure out what I had collected (without really studying the forum strategy guides).

Re: Progear release a possibility?!
Progear's my favourite game ever, so I voted.
And let's not forget, Progear and the other CPS2 shmups nearly made it to PlayStation2 once before, so it's not impossible! Capcom apparently has a glimmer of interest in a range of CPS2 games' potential.
EDITS: Tweaks for clarity.

I think Cave did their own poll that resulted in Guwange being released.Some-Mist wrote:you never know autumnmotor.... CAVE went with a Guwange port based off a poll as did Rising Star with some of their ports. It's totally possible even if it does seem improbable.
Even if it's not a "pick a game to get a port" poll, an outstanding show of support for Progear could turn out well. Cave's ports seem to have done well enough to justify them to go through the majority of their catalog, so maybe Capcom will see similar promise in Progear.

and then Rising star use polls as well.
I really do hope Progear wins though.

I'm sure once the Street Fighter community get wind of it you're screwed, there's more of them, even if the last thing the world needs is another port of SF2Some-Mist wrote:My wording was kind of confusing. That's the problem with very broad polls..
I've discussed this in the past, if we had a poll to keep things in MAME I'm pretty sure we'd be left with an emulator that ran only SF2 and Pacman

Voted for Progear too.
Though I'd rather see a Dimahoo port.
