I found that every time I tried it at colour_thief's place that there was so little to dodge due to the bullet cancelling at most times that I just got bored and forgot to pay attention to the times I actually had to dodge ("oh, look, another interesting wave totally cancelled, yawn"). Just doesn't seem like a fun game to learn to play.

I saw a thread on another site that said the Bullet Soul release on GoD has no VPN, and therefore can be downloaded outside of Japan (game is regoin free). It should be possible to load an American account with Microsoft points, then change the region to HK or Japan and buy the game(Japan:2720MSP/HK:1680MSP.) Both are a major discount over importing the game, which still goes for over $80.

Hi all,
Just got this with Ginga Force.

Does anyone know what Gauge out does in the options under visuals?

Had a quick go (played the demo few weeks ago) and enjoying it. Not very deep but a nice relaxing no brainier shmup for me :)

Isn't that the option that moves the multiplier gauge out of the game screen and into the wallpaper area?

Apparently, yes, on any "Type" Screen that's not 0.

Are there any full translations for all the DLC items in Bullet Soul? There are 19(!) items and only half of them have any English. I just read through the past 5 or so pages here trying to figure it out.

Here's what I'm guessing, please feel free to correct if I'm wrong here:

Bullet Soul will be released very soon digitally in North America essentially as a GOTY version with all dlc and stackable achievements. They are also working towards getting it backward compatible on the Xbox One.

Hopefully it'll also be available in Europe/UK like Caladrius was.

Well, hopefully they will, I'm surprised at the fact that Bullet Soul, out of all games, is getting an overseas release (digitally), even though the game is region free, lol. But hey, at a lower price point is good, wish it was the -Infinite Burst- version, considering that has most of the content so far. These trends of 360 STG's getting overseas releases sporadically seems weird at first, but we all come to enjoy them.

It seems quite hard to track down a decently priced Infinite Burst copy, I missed the release window prioritising other games :( A Western release would be nice but wasn't Infinite Burst the base game with extra modes, so it's weird that the original game would be coming out?

It does seem a bit strange to choose BS White Label over IB... but the two games do vary quite a bit. White Label's Arcade Mode is much more difficult than IB's (particularly in the requirements to trigger the stage end crests.. which are used to trigger the second loop). Also, no playable Loop (Plugsuits desu!) in WL.. although, she's playable in Mode B (one of the DLC components). Scoring and loop requirements are altered between the different releases (with the most strict being WL) and boss patterns vary quite a bit across all modes.

IB Mode is a lot more hectic/chaotic due to all the Dangun Feveron-style coin collecting going on plus hypers. Couple that with numerous enemy formations that appear from the sides of the screen without warning and it becomes quite easy to inadvertently careen into zako.

Wow that's sad news. I found WL to be almost unplayably boring, but I picked up IB anyhow to keep my 360 collection complete. IB (burst mode) is now one of my favorite shmups on the system. It's that different. Criminally underrated game, and this WL release is only going to further stain the series reputation.

WL Mode B is a "beginner-friendly" mode.. Mode A, not so much. The problem is that the game is very back-loaded. In the first loop, only the bosses really pose a threat (although some of the zako patterns in stages 4 and 5 can easily take a player by surprise). In the second loop, the higher bullet volume combined with higher enemy volume means that you actually have to dodge as there's no guarantee that you're going to kill everything in each wave. Also, the bosses are more aggressive in terms of pattern density and speed. Of course, trigger loop 2 in Mode A is a pain in the ass.

The DLC content they're no doubt referring to is WL Mode B (which includes Arcade Mode B and Bancho Mode B) and Caravan Mode. The original game only contains Arcade Mode A and Bancho Mode A. If they choose to make IB DLC... that's another 5 game modes (doubling the game), unless they choose to only incorporate Burst Mode and Burst Bancho.

People really need to give up the dream when it comes to ports of DOJ BLEX... let it go.

^I doubt they'll make the Infinite Burst content DLC, when technically, its a separate game within itself (with its own ach. list and all), though its still the same Bullet Soul regardless.

The game has not actually released, even as of today it's still not out, they just put up a placeholder a little bit in advance of the actual release, as they usually do.

Well, if you happen to be in other regions besides US/CAN, PAL regions and maybe some others do not have it, its more likely an NA only digital release.
