It's gotta be April Fools, and looks like another parody of Star Soldier. Kiken, you should know better! Look at the copyright date on the title screen shot!

fun stuff, 1956 was such a great year for shmups!
edit Ok it says 1986 and features a NES controller, still fun, fun fun. US-A on her shirt is quite nice. I think this one will be released in the west

I'm sure that if they actually did make a game out of this most of us would buy it. Would make a nice Virtual Console title.

It's kinda sad how April Fools' games look more interesting than real ones.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

So what's the Irem joke this year? That zoo last year was pretty badass.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

They sure do the best game April Fools - but apart from the 'English' webpage being in Japanese - I can't spot the joke yet...
EDIT: There's some bloody odd questionnaire going on that suggests I should works as some kind of crustacean in a workshop...

Hmm, I know it's a joke, but does it remind anyone of Gun-Nac?

edit:
when I went to the site, it showed a tiny famicom'esque console in the lower left...but looking up some Jpn blog...came across this:
hahah lame joke...but I would like to play the game.

Yeah, they were showing an MVS earlier. It said MVS on the right side as well, red letters. They've just swapped that in there.

If this is an April Fool's joke, then it is an elaborate one!
I hope that this is for real and is based on the popularity of Game Center CX! Fake retro games are in!
I would BUY this now!
I am surprised that HUDSON has not done something like this already....!
"wax on...wax off!"
