My way of thinking was: if it's like Ibara BL, then it might be a good thing (a completely different game system). If it's like Daioujou BL (tweaks to the original system), then unless they offer to upgrade already purchased boards (like they did with Mushi Futari, or PS, or MMPork) and not do the limited release thing (like Daioujou BL), then a BL version would be somewhat unfair to those who have spent a ton on the game already.

The fact that the game was apparently rushed out from the first showing, straight through short location testing and then to general release says a lot. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't previous Cave-style releases take a lot longer between the first showing and general release?

What's popular opinion in Japan regarding DS at the moment (besides "OMG LOLIS!!")?

I no longer think there will be a ver 1.5 for this. Only reason there was a ver 1.5 for Futari was people complained Original and Maniac were too hard, and they wanted Ultra mode like the first game. So they dumbed down the difficulty for the first few levels and made Ultra ready from the get-go. With this game, it's already super easy. Nothing to dumb down. An Ultra mode would go against their philosophy for the game as well. This was not intended to be a bullet hell type of game.

It's also very clear that there is a lot of hidden stuff still in the game waiting to be revealed. This will likely make the game have more longevity and popularity.

Not a whole lot, if any. All of the "Fall" games generally come out in November... so, a couple of weeks max. Also, almost the entire game was shown at the AM Show... only the castle stage wasn't present.

From the handful of 2ch pages I've read, it's pretty well received. Some of the hard core users are a bit miffed at the ease (one guy said he cleared it on his second credit and won't touch it again) but others are happy with it. I went to Mikado on Sunday afternoon. They had two machines there, and both had people playing constantly.

They didn't have it when I was there, but they rotate quite a bit. They had some other games that weren't there last time (old stuff). They might still have it. Not sure.

That video was cool as hell. What a last stage!

Only problem I can see is that the normal stages seem a bit short.

I don't mind the easier difficulty, because...well, i'm not very good.

I got the clear today. More weird shit on the last boss. I'm fairly certain I got to the last boss w/ 3 bombs on my last remain. Figuring there's no way in hell I can beat the 2nd form w/o some bombs, I no miss/no bombed the first form. Somewhere in the second, it got a little harry and I died. Thinking my game was over, I got up and had two life bars left. Still not sure what happened.

You get your life refilled to 3 blocks at the start of the last boss when you're down to your last life block. One of the lame-ass features of the game, IMHO.

Okay, I played all rank 3 today. Got my ass handed to me on Stage 4, and for the love of God, make sure C-2 is not your last stage. You're way too close to everything to handle the suicide bullets. I was using Folett which might've been a problem

Reams and reams of dialogue before the last level which is annoying.

Why can't you skip it? As if there wasn't enough button mashing in the game already.
