That's right, an arcade game from Konami, and that's right, horizontal shooting with girl characters. There's little other information right now, but i'm sure we'll find out soon.

With a name like "otome-dius" ("otome" means "virgin" or "maiden") I really hope it's taking the piss out of the whole moe genre.

What was the last shmup Konami made? Gradius IV? I hope it's a return to form and doesn't show evidence of shmup design atrophy.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I love it. Genre: Videogame
It goes in an eAmusement cab, which has me a bit frightened. Can anyone that plays the abomination that is DDR comment on what exactly an eAmu CVT cab is?

Dreamcast release? If Konami & the DC were at their height, it would still go to another machine.

Bah, it will be only pcb release or the substitute of the new Gradius for new gen console. I hope it will be cool as GV, but with more originality...

Well, further down it does give a brief description stating "female character-based horizontal shooting".

Personally, I'm hoping for a PS2 port. No need to put something like this on the PS3 and the PS2 has still got a solid year ahead of it.

Hmm...first Cave "unleashes the pigs of war," as another member put it, and now there's the possibility of another Parodius after, what 10 years or so?

Could this mean that the cute-em-up/schtick-em-up is finally making its long-awaited comeback? Dare I dream of a new Game Tengoku? Or even better, a new (non-pachinko) Cotton?

Whatever happens (or doesn't), anything that makes the genre more difficult to take too seriously is top news in my book. :mrgreen:

I saw that. I'm more concerned about the cab it goes in. Usually I wouldn't be, but the new 2D mario game requires you to wiggle that fucking controller.

Damn..it's been a long time since Konami has made a game for a standard cabinet, and a shooter at that. Yeaa

Konami's e-amuse system is sort of like Sega's VFnet, internet ranking and matching. I don't know what 'CVT' is.

Huh, now I'm getting Exelica flashbacks...though I'm sorely hoping for something shamelessly silly, heh heh. Guess we'll hafta see how the gameplay looks, once we get a glance of that.
